Mayly Tao: The Donut Princess Discusses the Cambodian Refugee Hustle

Mayly Tao is the great niece of Ted Ngoy, the “Donut King” of SoCal. He came to America, penniless, and not only made a fortune, but paved a way for other Cambodian immigrants to come to America and live a great life.

Today, Mayly is the owner of DK’s Donuts in Santa Monica, and she also is a role model for other Asian American ladies under the nickname “The Donut Princess.” You can also find her talking to leaders and influencers in the Asian American community in her podcast, the Donut Princess Podcast.

I caught up with Mayly Tao about the immigrant hustle, and we discussed her current projects within the AAPI community.
