Alison Gold: Chinese Food

Song of the year?

Chinese food. It’s just sooo f*cking good.

Okay, all jokes aside, does anyone else realize that Patrice Wilson (the guy who wrote this and Rebecca Black’s “Friday”) is some kind of criminal mastermind/genius?

I’m sure this guy is absolutely BANKING from the amount of publicity this stuff is getting. Now that it’s 2013, YouTube is king, and whoever can go viral on YouTube can own the world. Rebecca Black has over 1 million followers on Twitter. WTF. That’s a platform right there. And Alison Gold might get that many soon.

As the saying goes, “any publicity is good publicity.”

Is it offensive? Kinda. Not really though. It’s just so dumb that it’s not even offensive to me. I know some people are in an uproar, but there’s going to be people like that for everything. This is nothing like Day Above Ground’s Asian Girlz. Not even close.

Truthfully, I think a lot of people realize that these music videos aren’t “serious” music videos. The people that are saying stuff like “Rebcca Black sucks” is akin to people saying “Scary Movie isn’t even scary.” This is postmodern satire at its finest. Alison Gold is a satire of satire (her last name, Gold, suggests that she’s the blonde version of Rebecca Black). And in that regard, these people are absolutely genius.
