Anime Series: Grave of Fireflies

If you’re an anime fan you’re sure to have seen this movie once or twice. If you haven’t then shame on you! How dare you call yourself an anime fan?! This movie can bring tears to a person without tear ducts. It centers on two siblings during World War II who’ve lost their parents and seek refuge anywhere possible. The elder brother’s compassion and struggle to keep his younger sister alive and well even in the most sordid and war ridden environment shows true desperate lengths a person would go for their loved ones.

Movie: Grave of Fireflies ~ Live Action

While we’re on this franchise I might as well mention the live action adaption produced by NTV. This time we see the story of Seita of Setsuko predominantly through the eyes of the aunt who allowed them to live with her and then kicked them out when things got rough. What we initially thought from the Anime’s depiction to be a selfish heartless act on her behalf is now seen to be a desperate sacrifice she ultimately needed to make to save her own family from starving with already depleted rations.

Track: Ji Eun – Yesterday is Different from Today

Although I’m not sure the lyrics to this song have anything to do with the MV I have to say it’s one of the saddest music videos I’ve seen in, well ever. The artist name is Ji Eun who in my opinion is very unappreciated for her talents. The music video for the songs has two familiar faces most would know from a few drama series. One is Goo Hye Sun (Boys Over Flowers) who pulls off an incredibly believable performance along with Song Chang Ui (Golden Bride).

Series: Calling Love

Picking up an abandon phone out of midair, this series will have you asking for more. Through this twist of fate, Steven and Tiffany become friends over the phone despite having never met each other.

Track: Yuna Ito – Endless Story

You’ll be touched with this song with the added sweet melody. The song was also the theme song in the 2005 Japanese film, Nana which was made into a movie from the manga.

Movie: OneChanBara

If you like hot Japanese chicks, gore, and ninjas, then this is the movie for you. It’s a silly Japanese B-movie that is just fun to watch. It won’t win an Oscar, but it will entertain you.

Series: Shining Inheritance

One of the best series I’ve ever watched. This is also the first one that I’ve given a 100% rating to on the reviews section. Check out that review.

Track: UR Man Remix (SS501)

Not a new track but its a great song by SS501 and I really like the remixed version over the original. SS501 is definitely one of my favorite Korean boy bands.
