All of the people who have subscribed to our newsletter probably have heard of Steven Lin, one of our regular dating columnists. Well Steven Lin has finally released his dating manifesto, entitled Advanced Asian, a dating guide specifically with the male Asian reader in mind. I recently got the chance to sit down with it, read it thoroughly, and review it for the readers here at Amped Asia. Is it worth your purchase?

The information that Lin packs into this 100+ page e-book is magnificent. Besides the fact that I really enjoy his writing style, Lin has packed a TON of content in his e-book. This may be called a dating guide for Asians, but I feel that it can benefit anyone. It is a complete dating guide with information from changing your lifestyle to how to have a successful date.

And who couldn’t get a few pointers here and there about dating. There are many things in here that made me go: “Wow, why didn’t I think of that?”. It’s stuff that you can start incorporating into your lives right now to really get your dating lives handled.

Maybe you want to get a girlfriend? Steven has details on how to make it happen. Perhaps you just want to get girls into bed the same night? Steven tells you his methods to increase your chances. He also mentions that there is no guarantee that you’ll be 100% successful, and I definitely respect him for it. No program should guarantee that you’ll bring home the hottest chick every night.

There’s tons more stuff on this book, which spans over 100+ pages, but I don’t want to get into the nitty-gritty details. You can get it all on his website.

But let’s get on to the meat of the content on this book. What can you expect? What can you not expect?

First of all I want to stress that there is absolutely no manuscript on earth that can instantly change you from a loser into a player. Steven Lin knows this and he emphasizes this point in his book. Anyone that writes a book full of “guarantees” is simply out to get your money. That’s why I think this book is truly great. It gives you realistic goals and realistic expectations and takes you every step of the way in your progression into a dating master.

The best part of this program is the “30 Day Plans” that Steven has meticulously detailed to help you start training to become better with women. This part is what I love about this book. It doesn’t present you just a bunch of “tricks” to get women into bed, but it gives you step-by-step ways to actually improve your life, become a better speaker, become more confident, and become better with women. Yes tricks work, I’ve seen them work. I’m not just a worker on AmpedAsia, I’ve done my fair share of clubbing and going out to meet women, and I know that some tricks do work. But they only work to get some initial interest in you. If you don’t have an interesting life and positive things to offer to the world, then you’re not going to get far in your relationships.

So that’s where this book works and others fail. This book helps you to completely transform yourself, and use this transformed version of yourself to become better with women. Lin calls this version of yourself your “Advanced” self. This book will show you how to become that person.

Is there anything that could be improved?
This book has some sections that Asian men in particular will probably want to read. There’s specific chapters about getting rid of negative mindsets that Asian men possess and how this puts Asian men at somewhat of a disadvantage when it comes to seducing women. Also there are chapters specifically about seducing Asian women and the subtle differences between an Asian woman and a Caucasian woman (or a woman of another race).

I did already mention that this book could be targeted towards any race, and this is definitely true. In fact it’s a little too true. The Asian-specific dating material didn’t blow me out of the water. It was a lot of stuff that I’ve already heard before. This book didn’t need to be called “Advanced Asian.” I don’t really know if that’s a good or bad thing, but if you really wanted Asian-specific content, then this might not be the book for you. With that said, everything else in the book is fantastic.

All in all, this is the book to get whether you’re Asian or not. There is just too much information packed in this 100+ page manual.
