5 Craziest Japanese Films

Japan is quite an interesting country. Since for years they’ve had this conservative image, I guess these over-the-top crazy-ass films are just what the average Japanese needs for some excitement in their life. Blood, schoolgirls, lolitas, fried tempura… you’ll get all of these elements in the following movies. Let’s start with #5.

5 – Ichi the Killer

If you like gore, torture, murderous Yakuza dudes (including one who can smoke through the cut-open slits of mouth – watch the trailer to see that), then Ichi the Killer is definitely going to be your thing. Who could ever turn down loads of blood shooting out of severed body parts? It’s crazy but fun, and a little sexy (if you like your women beaten and sliced up).

4 – Kamikaze Girls

Kyoko Fukada is damn cute (and bizarre), and Anna Tsuchiya is damn strange (and slightly erotic). Together they make one hell of a movie. Two really weird girls, meeting each other, becoming very close, taking each other’s clothes off. Seems like a winning formula to me.

3 – Machine Girl

Wow the Japanese haven’t done everything have they? This time they are combining a machine gun arm with a cute girl. Add a couple weird ninja guys (who can also dodge bullets with their swords), and you’ve got this movie, “Machine Girl.” Oh btw, there’s one scene where she cooks her hand in tempura. Looks kinda tasty?

2 – Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl

Ok so I thought the previous mash-up was weird. Now you’ve got a vampire vs a Frankenstein. Incredibly low production values, but totally a cool poster and a super crazy title. Oh yeah, not to mention loads of blood and gore (bright red blood too). Come on. You know you want to watch it.

1 – Hausu (House)

There’s not much that needs to be said about Hausu (English: House), except that you need to watch this clip below. Can you say FUCKING AWESOME?!
