7 Fictional Asian Girls We All Had a Crush On Growing Up

As kids we all loved watching TV, and we all had a little crush on these characters. Who can you relate to?

Lana Lang from Smallville

Smallville singlehandedly kept the WB alive, and when WB merged with UPN to form the CW, Smallville was still one of the fledgling network’s best shows.

And why did we love Smallville? Besides the fact that we all wanted to be Clark Kent, we also wanted to date Lana Lang. She was the High School sweetheart, the true love. And also she was played by the lovely Kristin Kreuk, who might be the hottest half-Asian this world has ever seen.

Let’s move on from the fact that Kristin Kreuk also destroyed Chun Li (and not in a good way), and keep remembering her as the cute, innocent first love of Mr. Superman.

Misty from Pokemon

Misty was always the bratty friend to Ash that secretly had a crush on him. And of course, as young aspiring Pokemon masters ourselves, we all related with Ash, the young 10-year-old who pretty much became the best Pokemon trainer in the world before he turned 11. Misty was always there for him. She was annoying at times, but she also saved him a bunch of times. And of course, throughout the series they had their tender moments.

Of course nothing really ever happened between Ash and Misty, but hey they haven’t even gone through puberty yet.

Misty and Pikachu… after puberty.

PS. If you played the Pokemon trading card game, you might remember a Japanese card called “Naked Misty” that they had to change for American audiences because American kids were getting too turned on by the picture. That card was the object of desire for young 10-year-old boys everywhere.

Bulma from Dragon Ball Z

As an avid watcher of Dragon Ball Z, Bulma was always the girl that everyone thought was hot. Maybe it was the valley girl dubbing, maybe it was the blue hair, but Bulma was always the girl for us.

And because of moments like this one…

Although Goku ended up with ChiChi, we always thought Bulma was actually the right girl for him. (Despite the fact that there was a little bit of a age difference between them — see below).

Unfortunately, Bulma’s taste in men wasn’t the best and she ends up with Vegeta. Maybe another reason why we love Bulma is that subconsciously we want that girl that only likes badboys.

Lastly, Bulma’s son Trunks was super f*ckin cool. So she became a hot milf.

Android 18 from Dragon Ball Z

Out of the DBZ series, there were a couple of sagas that really stood out. One of them was the Android saga, and it was mostly because of this lady.

Another Dragon Ball Z character, Android 18 was initially an evil badass, but became a good girl in the end, proving that we all love a bad girl that we can change.

Furthermore, she ends up marrying Krillin, the nerdiest and least powerful dude on the show. Subconsciously I’m sure that made us feel that even the underdog can end up with the hot blonde girl.

Sailor Mars from Sailor Moon

While Sailor Moon might be the most popular girl in the Sailor Universe, Sailor Mars was definitely the hottest. Not only did she have “fire” powers, but she also had a very crazy personality. In the series she also dates the non-superhero version of Tuxedo Mask, Mamoru Chiba, while Sailor Moon dates the costumed Tuxedo Mask. Showing us guys that it’s okay to be a player, as long as you have a mask on for one girl.

Those legs though…

Chun Li from Street Fighter

No fictional character list would be complete without Chun Li, one of the most desirable fictional characters of all time. (And I’m not talking about Kristin Kreuk’s terrible Chun Li, although props to Miss Kreuk for her Lana Lang portrayal.)

Who remembers this shower scene?

Yeah I know we all do.

Chun Li was our ideal woman. Feisty, Asian, and knew how to kick ass. And let’s not forget about those THIGHS.

Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop

Who loved Toonami on Cartoon Network? If you watched it, you probably also watched Cowboy Bebop, one of the most popular Animes of all time.

She’s one of the members of the bounty hunting crew, and she’s portrayed as the “devil may care” girl with a cigarette in her hand at all times. But even though she was female, Faye Valentine knew how to kick as much ass as any guy on the show, and she could hold her own in a battle or with a large vehicle =)

Plus, it’s hard not to like a character that looks like this:
