In Asian countries like Japan and Korea it’s a big scandal when you have a public relationship or marriage. That kind of publicity signals the end of a girl’s career in many cases because it crushes the dreams of their fans.
One J-Pop group, The Happening, is breaking from that tradition and holding public auditions for potential dates and even husbands like a Japanese version of “The Bachelorette.” The 4 girls in the group Manaka, 20, Saaya 22, Kaori, 26, and Eri, 25 are adding this “public audition” as part of their reality television show. The thing about these girls is that they go everywhere in their bikinis so it’s important that their potential suitors are okay with that.
