Yesterday Review
Yesterday is set in 2020 in a unified Korea. A serial killer has killed several of the top scientists in the nation while leaving clues to taunt the Special Investigation Unit assigned to the case. When the latest victim is the police commissioner, team leader Seok has to work with the commissioner's daughter, a criminal profiler. Together as they find the serial killer, they begin to discover secrets of their past.

Yesterday is a terrible movie that I watched just because it had a cool looking poster and featured Kim Yun Jin. I even watched the crappy English dub version of this movie that was available via Netflix. The storyline is far too complex especially at the beginning, and I was left very confused throughout the first forty minutes of the movie.

There's a ton of action, but without necessary plot development, the movie became boring very fast. It took all my strength to finish watching the entire film, and I had to take breaks in between because the movie was so poorly developed. For a big budget film that featured some of my favorite actresses Kim Yun Jin and Kim Sun Ah, Yesterday was beyond disappointing.

Acting was very subpar in this movie. No character was particularly compelling or original, and I attribute most of this to the bad plot. Featured in this movie were two pretty great actresses, Kim Yun Jin and Kim Sun Ah, but both of their roles weren't very important for this film. Kim Sun Ah plays a sort of minor policewoman while Kim Yun Jin is the daughter of the police commissioner. The main male character, played by an actor I don't recognize (Kim Seung Woo), also doesn't have much of a personality. He doesn't even seem very sad that he killed his own son in the opening minutes.

Overall, I could continue ranting about how terrible this movie is, but the bottom line is just please don't watch this movie. I was tricked by the cool poster and the draw of Kim Yun Jin and Kim Sun Ah. There are better Korean action movies to watch out there.
