Lee Dong Gun, a Korean actor and singer, is popularly known for his role in the much acclaimed Korean drama
Lovers in Paris, both in South Korea and neighboring Asian countries.
He started his career in the Korean entertainment industry as a singer in 1997. He released two albums
Beautiful Beginning and
Much More, but his career as a singer did not make a long-lasting impression. His appearance in the Korean TV sitcom
Three Friends shed a new light for his career opening opportunities to star in Korean dramas like
Sang Doo Let's Go to School and
Stained Glass and in the movies like
My Boyfriend is Type B.
The career transition from music to acting did not stop him from singing. He sang
And I Love You So in the movie
My Boyfriend is Type B as a serenade to his love interest. Some of his TV dramas showcased his singing talent either as part of the storyline or one of the tracks in the dramas’ soundtracks.
Lee Dong Gun, baptized with the name of Emmanuel, studied in the Department of Theatre and Cinema at Hanyang University.
