What really got me into anime was Bleach. You could say it was my first "real" anime. Got bored one day and remembered a friend talking about Naruto. Couldn't find downloads for that and found Bleach instead.

interesting, I actually saw a lot of Bleach ads on Narutofan, where I would get my torrents fro Naruto episodes...so I checked it out and bam...started watching it.

as always the first one was Dragon ball, but the one that hooked me in is Evangelion. This was the best experience I had while watching a series.

Uummm. . . though I didn't know it at the time Sailor Moon was the anime that got me into anime. I was young then & had never heard of the term "anime" at that time. But to my credit Tenchi also got me interested in anime.

Mine was Sailor Moon! And then I went off and then got hooked again through Gundam Seed.

now that you all mentioned sailormoon and DBZ..yea i think these two got me hooked up to the anime world..then there's ghostfighter, gundam, slam dunk, card captor sAkura..and....

i think it will be DBZ or yu yu hakusho im not sure

Do american Animated shows count? My first american cartoon would be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. My first japanese one would definately be Sailor Moon.
