i want to be able to speak it fluently, and possibly live in Japan someday

My motivation is..The second that I first laid eyes on manga, anime, the second I first heard japanese music, I just fell in love with the culture, they have an entirely different way of thinking compared to how most think in England. They seem so mature for their age, yet if you were to maybe get on the wrong side of someone, the consequences would probabaly be much more severe lol! (If Hana Yori Dango is anything to go by...) But mostly, the people there seem generally nice and hard-working and it's an extremely respectable culture, one that hopefully I can become a part of one day! Hehe! ^-^

I think my motivation to learn japanese is the same than many of yours =)

I love the culture, I love Anime & Manga, I would like to visit Japan one day, I would like to work in an business later where I have to work with japanese people, too. For example the IT industry, the game industry.....
And you know, Sony & Nindendo are both from Japan, too °_°

You should also learn japanese, althought it's not an easy language, but it's quite useful for the future if you plan to work as an... dolmetcher... and such kind of jobs

I plan on taking a trip to Japan in the coming year and I would love to be able to communicate effectively to enjoy the whole experience. I believe it adds to the richness of the trip if one truly takes a sincere interest in a place.

Ahh.. My inspiration is to learn 10 languages, so far 5.
So.. I'm on my way =P
Plus I want to learn more Asian languages, they are so interesting. o.o

Every day I must hear the language even in one time..my day will not complete without hearing the language..:-)

For me at first it was because I love anime and I always watch them with japanese sound and english sub. I started to understand the language without the sub, but I wanted more. I wanted to know a lot more than that and I wanted to be able to speak my mind in japanese. I also like the way it sounds. so that was my reason to learn japanese.
