I am in my late twenties and my parents are pushing me to get married since I am not getting any younger. For all I know, they just want to see their grandchildren and get me to settle down.

But what can I do? I am still enjoying being single and free. And besides, most of my friends are not yet married also though some of them are. Am I that old that I should get married?

i think you should marry already. you dont want to be like my father. he and my mother married in their 30's. now he's regretting it. he wants me (im the eldest) to grow up immediately so that he could share his problems with me. he thinks that a 13-yr-old wouldnt understand a thing anyway.

You are at a good age to get married. Although honestly, it doesn't even matter. Many people marry in their 30s, 40s, even 50s.

i am the eldest of the family too and my parents are always telling me in a subtle way that they wanted to see their grandchildren whenever I am with them.

Now, with your opinion the pressure is certainly building up....hahahaha...should I cram and look for someone to marry? I am not the type to be the one to ask...(huhuhuhu..too bad)

I would say it isn't anybody choice to judge on what/when you should get married. When you're comfortable to know that you're able to handle what will come after marriages then go for it..Because marriage is a BIG thing and when I mean big it comes to the questioning "Are you fully prepared what comes after marriage such as: starting a family of your own, working to pay bills, having your own house/car and etc. Your parent won't be there to help you, it like being responsible on your own. So be PREPARED is the key!!

And whom you'll marry it means you're making a vow/commitment on being with that person for the rest of your lives but there are times when nothing goes as "perfect", it ends..

Marry the person you see yourself in 20 years, is he/she the one you dream all your entire life...will he or she be there in sickness and in health...questions like these takes a lot of thinking but like I said if you honestly believe you're ready...go for it!

Right! Don't marry just because it's expected of you! Just because your parents want you to marry that you go jump and do as they say! Marriage is one big step that has no looking back. You couldn't enter a marriage by saying "If it doesn't work out, there's always divorce or annulment!" Marriage is not to be undertaken with that notion in mind...

There is no “right” age to get married. Different cultures have different expectations, as well as the pressures of society that believes that happy endings begin and end with the prince marrying the princess. I was married at 20 and widowed at 29, do I regret marrying young? No, in fact if I had met him when I was 18 I would have married him then. My heart told me (as cliché as that sounds) he was the one I wanted to grow old with and wake up to every morning. When you consider getting married ask yourself if you're ready to share the good, the bad and the ugly of yourself. Consider, are you ready to share your money, time, and your annoying habits with that person. I realized after I got married the things I found cute about him 4 years later annoyed the hell out of me. Even so I loved him, and he loved me when I found out I couldn’t have babies. I was more devastated then him but he just smiled and said we’ll adopt. Love like that doesn’t have an expiration date. So my advice to you is that the life you lead is your life in the end no one else can live it or deal with the choices you make except you. You can’t live for your parents, or anyone else. You only get one chance and one life, make it a beautiful one.

i think i encountered a thread like this in here already anyway, though i have chosen a poll still i believed that it doesn't matter how old are you as long as your relationship is established and you guys can both handle your relationship in a mature way and as long as your finances is stable for future purposes then marry.

agree... as long as you know how to handle it.

depends on gender i guess.. for males, anytime even after 30 is ok.. but for females, guess shd be below 30...
