Because of having "disorder" at their performance at the SNU college festival a month ago which nearly became a stampede, the Wonder Girls answered the followings at an interview with Sports Donga earlier this week.
"We were really anxious when we heard the news about our fans getting injured at our recent Seoul National University College Festival performance."
Performance at Seoul National University Festival made those girls cry when suddenly people in the middle started pushing and pushing, resulting in those at the front being squashed like pancakes. A French exchange student and one Malaysian suffered
injuries in this evidence.
"It should have been a happy time for those coming to watch us. But such a thing happened instead and we are terribly sorry about it."
Ye Eun expressed
"I found out later that it was the first time that Seoul National University had invited an idol group over to perform since their establishment. So maybe that was why they were so excited. When we walked up the stage, we saw the ones standing in front being squashed by people behind them, it was a pretty dangerous situation. Before our performance, we did asked them to maintain order but it was no use as no one heeded our call."
So Hee chipped in
"I was thinking to myself that it would be interesting going to Seoul National University when I learnt about it intially. I was going there with a happy heart. But I was really shocked to see people pushing and pushing when we got there."
Ye Eun continued
"It nearly descended into a situation that could lead to a stampede. We were really anxious and so we're sorry."
