A member of the famous Taiwanese group, F4. Vanness Wu took us by surprise when he continued on with his singing career solely. As of today, he is one of the hottest Taiwanese singer to hit it big. Before Vanness became a rap/hip hop sensational in the Taiwanese entertainment industry. He spent most of his life in the United States. He was born on the day of August 7, 1978 in the city of Los Angeles. When Vanness was still a young man, he had a passion of wanting to become a break dancer. As an early age, he learned how to street break dance and have participated in many hip hop/break dance events.
Before the start of his stardom in Taiwan, Vanness was in a US based all-Chinese boy band called The L.A boyz. They ended up not making it far so the band was disbanded. Leaving Young Vanness to pursue another turn around. Upon the suggestion of his families and friends, Vanness traveled to Taiwan to try his luck in the entertainment industry. Luckily enough, the producer of Meteor Garden, Angie Chai cast him as
Mei Zhuo, a sly and playful guy who valued friendships in the movie. During the time of the filming, he had difficulty comprehending the Mandarin language due to the fact he wasn't fluent at this time.
He was then put into a Taiwanese boyband called F4. Together with Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, and Ken Zhou, their success made them one of the most famous music group in Asia. Their first album was released before the filming of Meteor Garden and was a big success. Having a bit of English in their album help rose them into international stardom. Together they have released two albums, Meteor Rain and Fantasy 4ever. Zhou and Wu had each released two solo albums. Yan and Zhu have released one.
On April 29, 2007, the producer of Meteor Garden, Angie Chai announced to the world that the boyband is no longer called F4 due to a copyright related issue. A Japanese publisher, Shueisha, who owns the copyright to Boys Over Flowers allowed the group to use F4 as its band name in 2001. Due to this conflict, the group changed it name to JVKV. They are preparing to release their 3rd album soon.
The latest news for the boyband JVKV is that all members are currently working on their solo career in acting and music. Also, there's news in the Philippines that Ken Zhu will be starring in a local movie to be filmed in Batanes around October 2007 or later.
