Han Chae Young will have a cameo role in the Korean Hana Yori Dango. She'll be Yoon Ji Hoo's (Kim Hyun Joong) first love... The Korean F4 is revealed today. Hyun Joong will play Yoon Ji Hoo. This coveted role was previously played by Oguri Shun as Hanazawa Rui for the Japanese version and Vic Zhou as Hua Ze Lei for the Taiwanese version. Group Eight, the production company in charge of the series, has finally started the casting process for the Korean version of Hana Yori Dango.

It has been said that Kim Hyun Joong, the leader of the Korean idol group SS501, his company and Group Eight have discussed the possibility of him being part of the series but Kim Hyun Joong's schedule is tight and many factors should be considered to accomodate his schedule.

A Group Eight source stated: "We picked Hyun Joong based on his performance in MBC We Got Married with Hwang Bo and felt that he would be able to play the Rui character well."

The producion company further stated that: "We are not going to just cast idols in the drama. There are many criteria that we look into. As long as it fits our criteria and image of the character, we will try to discuss the possibility regardless of whether he/she is an idol star or not."

If this preliminary discussion pushes through, Kim Hyun Joong will be a household name in Asia, in the same manner that Oguri Shun and Vic Zhou hit stardom playing Hanazawa Rui and Hua Ze Lei, respectively.

KBS 2TV scheduled the Korean Hana Yori Dango for broadcast on the first half of 2009.

i didnt know but sure he had qualities to do the Rui character, just hoping the rest of the cast will be revealed soon cause im so eager to watch this korean version of Meteor Garden

korean version of HYD this must me great, japanese version are good enough! im so excited to see this.

I’m really looking forward to the Korean version, this is the first remake of a drama that I feel should be done. But I was really eager to find out who would play Hanazawa Rui but Hyun Joong? I wish they would pick a guy that every viewer could not help but feel attracted to. Sigh, oh well.

I loved the Jap version of Hana Yori so I'll have to keep an eye on the casting and such.

Based on we got married, I can see why they chose him, but I would need to see other casting of the F4. They need to mesh well also.

I Can hardly wait for the korean version.I enjoyed both the japanese and taiwanese shows and i look forward to seeing what the korean cast will bring out in this story and what changes will appear.it will be no fun if it's a carbon copy of either series.

o hey a date for this korean remake!!! 2009 eh? when i graduate!!! lol. well maybe before then since it's sed to be earlier and beginning to 2009 lol. but weee i can't wait!!! cause chea once again i enjoy this Boys Over Flower storyline! and loved both the taiwanese and japanese version of Meteor Garden =]. lol. and i like Kim Hyun Joong too cause of WGM =] lol. so pretty excited that i do know a person part of this cast =] lol =] go cute protective young husband!!! =] lol
