YG Entertainment revealed on October 14 that their new female group will debut on February 2009. The group, dubbed as the "female Big Bang", will consist of Park Bom, CL, Gong Min Ji and Sandra Park.
YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Seok stated: "The final decision is that they will debut next February after sorting out the various preparations for their debut. This new female group will consist of at least 4 member, if not 5, though we have not come to a final decision on that yet. But we are confident that they will be a strong group which will display a different type of charisma for fans."
Buzz of this new group started as early as May 2008 and was believed to debut summer of 2008. During the initial buzz, the girl group was supposedly be just a trio composing of Park Bom, CL and Gong Min Ji. But ever since the success of Sandara Park's appearance in Gummy's I'm Sorry MV, YG Ent opted for her to join the group.
The girl group after establishing a strong base in Korea in the early parts of 2009 might opt to spread their promotions to the Philippines seeing that Sandara Park is very popular in the country ever since she first appeared in abs-cbn's Star Circle Quest.
Background info about the four girls: Park Bom became popular when she appeared in an Anycall commercial alongside Lee Hyori and Lee Jun Ki; Gong Min Ji is the granddaughter of Korean Dance Artist Gong Ok Jin; CL was seen in the performance of YG Family in last year's SBS Music Awards and has been featured in Big Bang's Mini Album; and, Sandara Park had an acting and singing career in the Philippines but moved back to Korea in August 2007 to try her luck in the Korean entertainment industry.

RE: Female Big Bang Debuts on February 2009; Sandara Park Added
Ah Ah ooh EEEP! Oh man I want to see them debut! Especially for Sandara Park! I've always had a small crush on her even way back then! xD And the group looks promising and is different from most of the girl groups right now. Especially if they're trying to be a female big bang, that would make them a really unique girl group.
