[Updated] Charice Pempengco to Hold First Solo Concert on June 27, 2009

News Update as of June 12, 2009:
Charice's first solo concert on July 27, 2009 entitled "Charice: The Journey Begins" to be held at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City at 8 pm will have Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez as part of the concert!

Charice Pempengco, simply known as Charice, will hold her first solo concert this June 27, 2009 at the Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City, Philippines.

Due to her hectic schedule, she won't be able to prepare long for her concert, a mere two weeks, due to her recording in U.S. but she gave her fans an assurance that she will give all her best to make the concert a concert to watch.

Charice said that she will perform a lot of unexpected numbers - "Kung ano ang mga hindi pa nakikita ng mga tao dati, dito nila makikita. Like 'yong mga songs, sanay sila sa akin na parang ballad, dito iba naman. Dito makikita nila 'yong dance power ko, iiwanan ko muna 'yong Jackson move, medyo Justin Timberlake. Mayroon din akong songs na pang-young, pang-teenagers naman para di ma-OP tapos mga OPM hits, 'yong mga old songs at mayroong abangan na isang super intermission number." (Rough translation: Stuffs that the people haven't seen yet, this time they will see it. Like for the songs, the people are used to hear me sing ballads, this time it'll be different. They will see my dance power, I will leave behind my Jackson move, kinda like Justin Timberlake. I also have songs for the young, for the teens so that they will not be out of place and then there will be OPM (Original Pilipino Music) hits, some old songs and please watch out for one super intermission number.)

She also hinted of an international star to grace her concert but said that David Foster will not be present.

The proceeds for the concert will go to Bantay Bata 163, a social welfare program of ABS-CBN specifically aimed towards children welfare.

Ah damn I thought she'd have her first concert in the US .. Well hopefully she'll have one some day here.. and by here I mean Chicago

I can see she's starting to change her whole style.. Not only with here music but with her clothing as well.. I guess this will help her boost her fame though since the way she was singing and dressed before seemed a bit dated for her age.. Although I personally think this new style might be to grown for her age I'm sure it's something that'll be beneficial towards her career.

I think it's just natural for her to have her first concert in the Philippines but I just didn't think it'll be this soon! I guess they want to strike the iron while it's hot and definitely she's hot right now! I think that the concert organizers want to have the concert while she's not that busy yet, well she's busy now but when she's going to promote her albums I'm sure she'll be much busier and will have no time to have a concert in the Philippines, much less special performances in shows...

Since Oprah is her unofficial agent, maybe her first concert in the US will be in Chicago Krazoom. Who knows? but I guess it'll be in LA or LV

I'm not sure if she changed her fashion style coz I just grabbed a photo that gives her a fresh look unlike the ones I see her wear lately... I think that's one of the promo pics used for her first album released last year, I'm not sure though...
