Solbi Taking on Figure Skating News: (4.15.09)

Singer/ Ex Cast of We Got Married: Solbi is taking on figure skating through Mnet's sports reality show "Ice Princess!" In the following four months, Solbi is set to practice in the ice rink in Ahn Yang. They plan to broadcast the whole process with minimal editing of scenes.

Solbi admitted that it won't be easy considering she hasn't had much interest in exercising and doesn't know how to roller skate or ride a bicycle. But she wishes that she exercised rather than going on crash diets. She also admits that she's not just a girl, she's a female celebrity. Therefore, wishes to keep showing new sides of herself.

The PD in charge, spoke of the decision to choose figure skating: "Although there were a lot of sports to choose from, it would be better to choose a sport that could exhibit a singer's specialty and a sport that was good for girls. Thus, figure skating. Figure skating helps improve your form and your posture. And it is a better workout than you would think, so it's good for dieting. In addition, because it goes hand in hand with music, Solbi should enjoy it."

Solbi's figure skating challenge airs April 30th.

Solbi does a CF for her Ice Princess show (where mentioned above, she's taking up figure skating!)
Solbi remakes Kim Yuna's CF for air conditioning as a promotional video for her upcoming Mnet's sports reality program Ice Princess. (April 30!!)
In the teaser for the show, Solbi sings the song herself just like Yuna, but changes some of the lyrics of the original CF song to "Sing Sing Solbi, Fly like Yuna, Ice Princess Solbi, " In addition, she performs the same exact dance from the Yuna CF.

Ok so first of all i came across this news on Allkpop so credits to them. But chea being a figure skater myself...well ok it's one of my hobbies lol ice skating! let say that. lol. so coming across this news was pretty interesting seeing that I know Solbi From We Got Married too lol. so chea all i can say is interesting news and I actually want to see how Solbi does! So if anyone know where i can watch this or maybe even download.....Please tell me!!!! But chea...I tell you skating is pretty hard...LOTS of practice is gonna be taking place!!!!!! but chea i'm also curious will Solbi actually learn to do the jumps and spins as well??? XD But agreed with the PDs ice skating is very good exercise. Especially for your legs XD lol gets more muscular! lol XD however i gotta warn Solbi! wearing skates i believe shrinks your feet!!! cause from 5 to 6 years of ice skating! my feet size is still only 2...in KIDS' SIZE!!!!! >.< goodness gracious! lol

p.s! Since i'm speaking about a korean singer lol. I thought i give a shout out to Figure skater Kim Yuna of Korea who became world champion at the recent 2009 World Figure Skating Championships and setting a new world record in the process. CONGRATES for your victory!

oh and i recently learned that there will be a korean serie coming out and it's about figure skating as well!!! so i'm pretty excited cause don't think there as been any ASIAN serie about figure skating yet! XD lol. only has skating for lovey dovey dates and stuffers lol. (BBF and Full House! XD) lol and indeed I would like to see the serie too! But chea the serie is called: Triple.. said to be aired after korean serie Cinderella Man.....

Solbi looks great! and I wonder how she can pull it off seeing that she's not an athletic person... Balancing on skates is hard! Not to mention, you have to be graceful while on it!

Anyways... at least her face in those photos are not that bloated compared to her first photos after the surgery... I wonder how advanced she'll get in her figure skating... I mean, she looks heavy (Sorry Solbi) in those pics and there will be twirls and lifts and all... I hope her confidence level will not be affected if she doesn't look good in tv during her first few practices...

Yay for solbi trying to learn how to ice skate! I wouldnt be able to think of any good sports for a celebrity. It'll probably help improve dancing skills although she already pretty good at dancing.

Side note yay for Yuna! (I didnt think she was that pretty but my mom said if any korean ever heard me say that, they'd kill me soo....yay)

ok then i'll leave the news like this...but the day i posted the news, I had to get off right away for bed cause i was really really tired lol. So thought to just ask you if you could help re-edit the news...but if not. I would of done it maybe another day...but i guess it's alright now so no need to do anything lol.

and chea lots of questions on how she would do in figure skating....and chea lots of people main thing is that Solbi seems kinda of a heavy person....well i'm pretty sure that won't be a major problem cause there isn't just jumps moves you have to do in skating. There's other movements as well! but chea aja aja fighting Solbi and i'm excited to see how you'll do in figure skating! =].
