Those Darn Popups
Anyone know any way to tweak FireFox settings or some method to stop random popups?

I'm getting annoyed of it.

RE: Those Darn Popups
not sure, some popups just seem to come even with popup blocking software. I'll look into it though.

I barely ever get popups, maybe you have a virus or something, those are known to cause popups

RE: Those Darn Popups
1st: Check for Spyware and Adwares.
Recommended: Ad-Aware, Spybot or/and, Windows Defender,

2nd: Pop-Up Blockers
Recommended: Windows Defender or any search bars (Google seems better).

3rd: Try to disable Java and Java Script in FireFox.
Tools > Options > Content > Uncheck "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript".
Turn on Java and JavaScript when it is neccessary.

RE: Those Darn Popups
It seems no popup blockers do the job like they used to. When they first 'invented' popup blockers, they did the trick, but now the popups don't even get blocked, as they've figured out ways around it.

RE: Those Darn Popups
IMO you don't really have to go through the disable javascript/enable javascript when you have to procedure... that involves a lot of mousework.

What I would recommend for that is to download the NoScript extension for Firefox. What it does is it disables javascript by default, but when there's a website you visit that you want javascript to work on, you can have it enabled just by two clicks - clicking on the Noscript icon and then selecting to "allow javascript for website.com". Hope that helps because Noscript has helped me for the last year. Smile

Thanks, I'll try it out right now.

It's not really the java flash pop-ups that annoy me, its those darn normal pop-ups that don't ever seem to get blocked.

I use to have a lot of spyware, after I cleared that up, all my popups were gone, try getting software to delete all of it, if any.
