I'm a filipina too and I use ysa botanica with papaya soap... it's effective, it really lightens my skintone. It was recommended by a cousin and since I saw its effect on her so I started using it as well. Just don't expect that it'll take effect after a few use. It'll take days even weeks for you to see the difference, maybe less than a month. My sister also used the ysa clarifying or is it ysa bleaching, I'm not sure now, and her zit marks was reduced.
My recommendation #1 - that you buy a small size soap first. Just in case your skin gets irritated, or have a tingling feeling, stop it. Maybe your skin is not "hiyang" with the soap. Hiyang? what's the exact english translation for that... not used to it or is sensitive to?!?
My Recommendation #2 - after consuming one bar, switch to another non-skin lightening soap, so that your skin will recover whatever it lost. Then you can go back, maybe after a couple of weeks.
My recommendation #3 - use the soap all over your body, not exclusively to your face. You might end up like a ghost or someone going to a costume party with white mask plastered on his/her face!

LOL
Here's what it looks like... not a clear pic though
