Synopsis
The Outsiders is about three "brothers" (no blood relation, they are just inseparable friends), Yu Hao, Shan Zi, and Yang Xiong Qi. They are the stereotypical bad-boys, who fight for what they want. Yu Hao falls in love with a classmate named Xiao Yan Zi, who saved him from a gang ambush by calling for the cops. The Outsiders revolves around the story of Yu Hao and Xiao Yen Zi's love and the obstacles that their love has to endure.

Review
The series is definitely edgier than what I was used to. There's plenty of violence and blood as well as mature themes. However, I really liked MOST of this drama series because it was exciting and incredibly fast-paced. The beginning is somewhat cheerful, but as the series progresses, the mood becomes melancholy and sad. When I said I liked MOST of the series, and this is true. But I didn't really enjoy the ending as much, but to avoid spoilers, I won't tell you what happens. Just be warned that if you were expecting a totally happy ending, then you won't be satisfied with the ending to The Outsiders.

The actors and actresses were all pretty good. An Yi Xuan is quite the beautiful actress so I'm glad that she was in this series. Dylan Kuo is also very good at acting, although I know he is among the model-turned-actor. The other characters, such as the brothers and the uncle, were also very well developed. Lan Zheng Long (Blue) and Michael Zhang were the actors for the other brothers.

If you are looking for an action/romance series, then The Outsiders would be perfect for you. It has everything for guys including action/violence, a hot female lead starlet, and an interesting gangster storyline. The soundtrack is also very nice as well - I especially liked the opening and ending themes.

My gripe is that the ending could have easily been changed to be a happy one, yet they purposely made it a bit sad so that the series had a more dramatic end. I thought this wasn't necessary, and it made me enjoy the series much less. I would reccomend you go into this series knowing that the ending isn't ideal or you may get emotionally hurt as you finish the series.

This serie is the good serie. i cried after i watch it because i'm upset that yu hao died at last. ady an yi xuan and dylan kuo pin chao was one of my favourite couple (actor and actress). Ady's cute and in-shape. It was so sad

ya..this show is quite nice..and it has a sequel featuring the pop singer Show Luo Zhi Xiang a.k.a xiao zhu and not least dylan guo..

I remember watching a little of it on TV in Taiwan and thinking it reminded me a little of Meteor Garden. ......I said A LITTLE! Don't hurt me! hehe. I probably had Meteor Garden on the brain anyway.

ahhh does he die? I got up to the outsiders II like episode 7 or something like that when he's already in a gang. I really want to see the ending but awww...I liek it because of how strayed away from fantasy land it is, but awww the ending is sad? nuuu!!!

This series is pretty good. I think both guys and girls and watch this because, for guys, there's plenty of gangster-related issues, and for girls, the chemistry between the two main characters is strong enough to keep us girls watching. I guess it got a bit boring in some parts during the series because the plot revolved around gangs, which led to one gang beating up another and then taking revenge and the circle continues. But basically, this is a pretty good series and I suggest watching the second one!! It fits into the middle of the first series because it shows the 5 years that outsiders I didn't play out. It's interesting in that way, and for fans who love alan luo, outsiders II is the way to go!! haha Personally, i like the first one though.
