Every year numerous movies are made by the film industries
but all are not liked. Some top the charts while others are kicked out of the box office. movies are often regarded as modern expressions of art. They make us laugh and cry and we often love to quote them. They edify us and enlighten us.
But the Question is that what exactly the Good Movie is:
A good movie should touch our heart and make us talk or think about it, instead of just being the means for mere time pass. It should have the capacity to teach and inspire us and provoke us emotionally.
It should be educative as well. It should be able to let us know about something new.one of the most effective In short a good movie should have some educative value for the masses.
A good movie must also provide some elements of encouragement and inspire people towards successfully overcoming barriers. Movies are regarded as the mirror of life. But this is not all.
The Plot: This is the most important part of the movie. Without a good plot a movie fails to attract and retain the viewers in the theaters.
The Characters: The second most significant factor of any good movie are the characters of the story. Without them there would be no story and no plot. Characters should be such that the audience like them.
Actors: We need good actors to make a good movie. Actors, who can justify the characters and make them, come alive in front of the audience. They must be able to portray the characters well so that people say that the characters are made keeping them in mind.
Script: Without dialogues movies look dead. Script is the life of movies so it should be very strong and appealing. A good script can even make people come and see the movie repeatedly. Last but not the least is the visual display of a movie with beautiful scenes.

Soruce : Sydney Morning Herald

A LONG time ago, in the mists of celebrity's early years, gossip columns and paparazzi photographs were about famous people at official events.

The famous people carefully emerged from big cars before walking down a long, red carpet while waving to assembled fans. Halfway down, they posed for photographers before answering questions such as, "What brand of moisturising cream do you prefer?" and "Are you enjoying married life?"

The famous people also allowed photographers to catch them "enjoying a day at home", often in poses and outfits so contrived that they resembled waxwork dressed for a coronation preparing a steak dinner. This charade handily disguised the celebrity's real life, often a desperate, lonely, uncorseted affair carried out between official engagements.

These days, the official celebrity events are mere advertisements for the up-close, unattractive and scurrilous gossip magazine features around them. That's no photograph of a celebrity looking glum in a shop while sucking a drink through a straw! Pah! That, the magazines swear in an ever-changing array of fluorescent cover headlines, is a star committing adultery, looking ugly, losing their mind or having a tantrum.

Take Suri Holmes, daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, a two-year-old who, according to Who, rarely smiles, is consistently dressed in expensive, rather than casual, children's clothing and rarely plays in the dirt.

She is "Suri Under Siege", because she stared mutely at photographers, covered her ears and "grimaced" when she was carried past screaming fans in New York.

Famous ups the heat on Jennifer Aniston's search for happiness by showing her holding her forehead with closed eyes and mouth open beside the headline, "Jen Dumps Cheating John" and inside with the caption, "The actress is devastated - her biological clock is ticking and she was hoping to marry John before her 40th birthday next year." Poor darl. One burp in the car park and she's back to being a desperate spinster on the cusp of a barren future.

Similarly, Sienna Miller's affair with actor Balthazar Getty gets the mags huffing. Who shows Miller at a petrol station in LA with clenched fists and a pained expression, allegedly shouting, "Can you leave me alone? I'm trying to get gas and this is really harassment" before driving to a police station to complain. Clinical insanity cannot be far off.

Best of all is an image, also in Famous, showing David Beckham sporting an angry-looking sore on his upper lip beside the headline, "Eww Manky!" Amid all the crap, it is a welcome pustule of truth bursting forth.

The Power of Chess

Ever since a little kid, my hobbies were all about strategy games (chinese checkers, advance wars, many board games such as risk and strategy, and of course those stupid pokemon cards). I was largely influenced by my grandpa.

When I was in first grade, my grandpa would teach me Xiangqi after I get back from school. Even though at first I was reluctant and moody (cause he was taking up my precious time for cartoons), I played with him. Yea, that's cause I was being rewarded in other things haha. But then, grandpa would be quite evil and perform crazy moves on me in handicap games. It was merely an entertainment for him; he would sometimes wickedly laugh at my follies and bad beats.

Everyday, I would spend some time with him to practice. It was through repetition that I learned from my mistakes, and his godly approach. Although I would get mad and quit at times, I would still play my grandpa the following day, because Xiangqi has begun to entice me. Little by little, chess would begin to get the better part of me. I would learn to anticipate grandpa's moves and plan strategies around his to avoid traps and such. As I grew, my game too, has grown more mature. I began to play more solid against him. The games then would be more in dept; maybe 5-6 steps ahead for each scenarios. In my high school days, I even started a trend in teaching friends and groupies Xiangqi; I also made friends playing good players who knew the game in the school. And if you had seen my yearbook, half of the comments were about "chess master" lalallaala, I didn't say it. Man it was fun... until grandpa passed away a few years ago. His skill was unmatched; there's no one I play who can give me the tremor of excitement like he can, hands down.

Now that I'm all nostalgic for it again, it's because of the Shogi that I'm trying to learn (inspired by Shikamaru). For the past moment, I began to analyze how much impact my grandpa left me. And I'm deeply grateful and in debt to him.

I feel my affinity toward Xiangqi helped me aquire a great deal of personality, on a positive level. I've become a more reflective, patient person. I feel I've come to appreciate many forms of art and music- much more than if I hadn't been influenced by Xiangqi. I am constantly seeking truth and knowledge, whether it be a quick glance in wikipedia for something exotic, or cnn news and discovery channel that I would leave my TV on in the background. I am endlessly pursuing many great things in life that interests me- cooking, popping, small magic, romance, etc... I feel I am who I am today because of the mindset that my grandpa once sowed. This is the power of chess that have affected my life.

Besides Western chess, as most of us know how to play, does anyone play other forms of chess? Here are many different chess variants:

Chaturanga - an ancient Indian game, presumed to be the common ancestor of chess and other national chess-related games.
Chaturaji - four handed version of Chaturanga, played with a dice.
Shatranj - an ancient Persian game, derived from Chaturanga.
Tamerlane chess - a significantly expanded variation of Shatranj.
Xiangqi - China.
Jungle (or animal chess) - China.
Banqi (or Chinese Half chess) - China.
Shogi - Japan (see also shogi variants).
Janggi - Korea.
Makruk - Thailand.
Sittuyin - Burma.
Shatar - Mongolia.
