After loosing much information about sites during the format I hope I can find help. I`m looking for pages about Japanese music (downloads and sites that offer overall knowledge, like what`s new etc).
NB! There is a thread for music but hopefully to put it under Japanese talk is not incorrect.

it has been spread out all ove net that this controversy that super sexy "National Costume" Miss Universe Japan, 25-year old Emiri Miyasaka, planned to don during the Miss Universe pageant caused quite a stir in her native country and abroad.

Now, due to thousands of complaints, Bloomberg News reports that the beauty pageant contestant is going to switch up her outfit for the August 23 contest in the Bahamas.

What do you think? Should Miss Universe Japan have stood her ground and kept her original costume. Or was it smart to opt for a more covered up look in response to the complaints?

Japanese Fashion?

So, one of the things I absolutely adore about Japan is the fashion! I love checking out different blogs and sites dedicated to Japanese street fashion.
Anyone else here a fashion junkie like me? Any recommendations on websites/stores that you like? I discovered this one that I love called Lolita Kisama - very cool accessories, and the prices aren't too bad.

(FYI - I hope it was OK that I mentioned that site - Just wanted to share one of my fave places with you all! ^_^)

Well first off Im new so, Hi ! Anyways well my sister went to a private school and it was chock a block full of mostly Japanese ( meaning out of most asians they were Japanese ) some of them were really odd and had only been in Australia for like 3 years ( keep in mind this is a high school so a 15-17 year old ) and they know nothing about the war with Aus, where American saved our arses we actually have a saying, although i havent heard it in a while but it goes something like "If it wasnt for America, we would all be eating with chop sticks"

WOW I get side track. BASICALLY I want to know if Japanese people have anything against Australians? I really dont think they should since they tried to take over my country and I as an individual didnt do anything to them but its good to know these things. Oh and I got inspiration through the Chinese thread and didnt think my question would be awnsered by many people if I posted in there <3

btw sorry if its long and pointless I babble on a lot <3

Just wondering, is Japan a safe country to go to if you're going by yourself and you want to check out the night life? Are there any threats such as Yakuza, etc.

i heard japanese people don't want speak english if not so important, even to foreigners when they're in japan, is it true? the reason why japanese people do that because they proud to their languange too much, is it true?

I've always wondered when can I go to Japan and live there. The problem is, if I'm going to live there, I'll have to work definitely. But having heard about long hours of work in Japan, it actually scares me to live there. What do you guys think?

Hey ppl~
Has anyone watched or read 12 kokki (12 kingdoms?) I really like this anime, I thought it was originally a manga - like most anime's but I found out it was a book series. I've read the first engllish translated book, but I can't find any of the others. Even the library doesn't seem to have it yet. does anyone know where I can read it online or get it anywhere other than kinokuniya?

When I first watched the anime, I was put off by the opening song, I though tit would be really boring. But once you get into it, it's really interesting.
I love the King of En and his Kirin - Enki (same seiyuu as inuyasha LOL)

my friend told me about this jap movie but i don't know where to find it or even download it. "Mary(or Marie) and the 3 puppies" i think. he say's it's nice just need your help on this one. thanks. by the way i'm kinda new here in amped.

Does anyone wonder how come Japan produce so many Adult Video (AV) every year and some many beautiful Japanese gals willing to participate in such movies? My friend jokingly says that the Japan try to reconquer the World thru the pornographic industry (no offense to the Japanese)... I need some help.... i want to know what is the best university in japan. because i'm planning to take my master degree after one year from now. i want to take master in business. i have just graduated and i will start to work then i plan to take the master next year.

I hear the usage of Blah-blah-blah no baka quite often. I have never understood exactly what it means. Let's just say Lance no baka. Breaking it down, I know no is equivalent to 's, it's an ownership article. Baka = idiot.

When used together, it could mean Lance is an idiot, it could mean Lance's idiocy, it could also mean Lance's idiot (someone else). Which is it? [/php]I'm pretty confused. If anyone can clarify, many thanks.

The reason I want to learn Japanese is that I like every thing japanese and I wish I could go to japan some day for now I have to save up some money and working for japanese company here in Thailand is a well paid job too.

I may have been into the music genre Visual Kei for a couple of years, but I'm just now starting to actually get into the style. Something just clicked and started to really get interested in wanting to dress up in the VK style myself. I hardly know where to begin though, especially when it comes to hair and make up. I have never had an incredible sense of style, and for the past week, I've been doing some research.

So, I was wondering if you guys have an recommendations or links to other sites for make up, clothing, or hair. Or even just tips. I'm honestly starting from scratch here.

Going to Japan for the first time

So, there's a slight possibility of me traveling to Japan around March next year to study in some high school. I'll be staying with a family I've never met and I'm staying in a country I've never been to before.
I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers on how to behave and act towards the host-family and the general population.
Just some basic stuff so I'm able to survive untill I manage to adapt
