1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table
knows nothing of the Christmas spirit.
In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately.
Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly.
Like fine single-malt scotch, it's rare. In fact, it's even
rarer than single-malt scotch. You can't find it any other time of year but
now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's
not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-aholic or something. It's a
treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's
Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it.
That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone.
Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes.
Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or
whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother?
It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to
control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat
other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between
now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you
have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need
after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and
that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted
Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near
them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of
attention.
They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're
never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple. Pumpkin. Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or, if
you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have
three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the
mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost.
I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the
party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Reread
tips; start over, but hurry,
January is just around the corner.

In the words of Nisbet, a renowned scholar, a community is the producer of people working together on problems, for the autonomous and collective fulfillment of the internal objectives, and through the experience gained by living under codes of authority that have been set to a large degree by the persons involved. While this definition could be enough to explain the functions of a housing cooperative, it is largely a new point of liberal pluralism.

Community living in ‘communes’ has been more an idea of utopian socialists and it got reflected in their spontaneous experiments in collective social organization of ‘living communes’. Collectivism and commune living, although not an offshoot of the greater October Revolution alone, has largely been practiced in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
The objectives of the communes as defined in one model constitution enacted in 1928 in the USSR were: ‘the tasks of the commune are to raise the new collective man who will be the active defender and creator of socialism . . . one of the major tasks of the commune is the construction of a new socialist way of life . . . The daily life, activities and work of the commune are directed towards the creation of more favorable conditions for the ensuing construction of a new way of life . . . the radical upheaval in the economy, the overturning of social relations will lead to a radical transformation in the way of life.

Hi Guys!

I haven't posted here in AGES. So far life's good, I'm enjoying it. Uni keeps me busy.

Anyways, as you can tell from the thread description my 21st birthday is coming up.
The thing is, I don't know what to do. This year, I've been to my friends 21st and its either:
- Simple party with drinks and nibbles at home ( Easy to do and convenient)
- Hire out a club/bar and invite all your friends and people ( Expensive but fun)
- Book a table or two at a favourite restuarant ( Its your food )
- Hire out a hall and cater yourself

But I don't know what to do. I'm gonna invite around 20 something people, I'm a bit undecided at what to do.

Please please please if you have any suggestions and/or advice, I'll really appreciate it. I'll bake you a virtual cookie!!

Almost everybody nowadays have access to mobile or cellular phones. Though mobile phones now are loaded with great features, we still can't dispute the fact that mobile phones serve two best features: it enables us to send personalized messages and to make or place phone calls. With that in mind, which do you prefer doing? Do you prefer sending/writing text messages or personally calling someone from your phone to relay a message?

Personally, if the message I need to relay is important or urgent, I prefer making a call than sending a text message. But if the matter is not really urgent, I just send text messages. What about you guys?

Hello,
I was just thinking, If I could choose how my next life would turn out to be, and i had no restrictions, what would i choose?

so i thought about it and i decided that i quite like my current life and wouldn't change much, except i wouldn't mind being naturally smart, like those ppl who dont need to study but ace everything. and i wouldn't mind being a bit taller....lol
but yeah, i dont think i could handle being a celebrity or rich - having so much responsibility or constantly being watched. and i'm lazy as and sooo weak, i woudn't survive as a impoverished person. so yup i'd wish for the same life.
how about you guys?
[/align]

Trying to be creative here, (procastinating at the same time)
so the scenario is: that you love someone and you know that they love somebody else. but they make u really happy and you know that u're soulmates. but they just feel the connection with someone else. would you be able to give them up? "in the name of love"

For this, I considered both sides (and yes i watched some dramas) especially the 1s where thye have the cute supporting character who loses out (i.e. lee jun ki - my girl and kim hyun joon - bbf) so yes, u r in this position. well, if i were to be a complete b*tch and fight till the end, it would be stupid, coz i'd be happy and the other person wouldn't be, it would be unrequited. so i trashed that thought. then i considered, even though they are my soulmate, i'd def. want them to be happy, and so i'd throw in the towel. i'll find a person who'll love ME anyway....*if there's a happy ending* ....

so yup opinions. are u the selfish lover or the generous...
