Super Junior second best-seller of 2007 after SG Wannabe
Thirteen-member boy band SUPER JUNIOR sold close to 160,000 copies of their album after just two months of release, becoming the second best-seller of 2007 after SG WANNABE.
SM Entertainment, Super Junior's music label, announced to the Korean music industry managements that Super Junior's second album, Don't Don which was released in late September of this year, sold a total of 159,015 copies by the end of November, being placed in second place of the year after SG Wannabe.
After a hiatus of one year and four months, the versatile entertainers of acting, MCing, and DJing Super Junior released their completely new album, the second album Don't Don. Aside holding activities of MCing, DJing, and acting this year, Super Junior also participated in many charity events similar to a "Together with Super Junior create a happy world" charity gathering and other activities.
This year the number one seller is SG Wannabe, with their album selling 195,000 copies by the end of November, being the best seller out of all the singers in Korea this year. Before the release of Super Junior's album, EPIK HIGH's fourth album Remapping the Human Soul was predicted to be the second best seller of the year, with a total of 130,000 copies sold.
SG Wannabe's fourth album The Sentimental Chord was released in April 2007, with a mixture of tradtional acapella, R&B, and other completely new elements and trials incorporated in the music of their second album. The unique title song, "Arirang" became everyone's favorite.
Only two singers, SG Wannabe and Super Junior, sold past 150,000 copies in 2007. There will probably be no singers that will sell past 200,000 copies this year.
