A powerful 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Mindanao in the southern Philippines Sunday, the US Geological Survey said.

No tsunami alert was immediately issued and there were no reports of damage or casualties.

"We are expecting some aftershocks but the quake is too far out at sea to cause any significant damage," a spokeswoman for the agency told AFP.

Really?!?! but hey I live in Mindanao but I didn't feel anything! oh my!

what time was it? if it's far at sea then we can't really feel it coz I live far at sea! but I really hope no tragedy will come after this quake!

I just read the AFP news and it was in GenSan but still no mention of the exact time... I was in GenSan yesterday! oh my! I hope the relatives in there are doing A-ok...
