Hello There, Guest! (Login — Register)
Does anyone know how i would be able to fix my speaker on my computer? i think i might've deleted it in the add/remove programs. It says there's no audio device when i went to the volume control thing. How would i get it back/fix it? pleeeeeaseeee and thank you! I LOVE MUSIC! and i'm being emo =[ haha
What's your operating system? Well, I'm using XP, so, the following procedure can be used for XP OS...
But before anything else, look for the Installation CD which is complimentary when you bought your PC. It is where all your PC's hardware installer is located... like video card, audio card, etc... then put it on your CDRom...
Go to "Control Panel" then press "Program and Maintenance", then press "System". The "System Properties window will pop up. Press the "Hardware" option then click the "Device Manager" button. The "Device Manager" button will pop up then press the + button for the "Sound, video and game controllers". If a yellow (!) is displayed then you need your sound card to be installed... Just right-click the "Sound, video and game controllers" and click the "Scan for hardware changes" then follow the set of commands being ask.
... or you can skip the procedure above and install your sound card like any other program...

do you know what a PCI device is? a pop up keeps coming up that says PCI device found. but then it says i'd hafta install the cd or look for it. I have the cd, but it doesn't help at all
PCI stands for Peripheral Component Interconnect... It is a connection for devices video cards, sound cards, modems, and the likes... It's like AGP which is used for video cards only...
If I remember correctly, it's been a long time since I've had this kind of troubleshooting... after the computer scans for hardware changes then the computer founds out that you have to install your video card then just click the BROWSE button and look for the folder for Video Card in your Installation CD... then you have to look for the device specifically used for XP... if you're not sure of your audio device, you have to try installing each one of the listed audio devices setup for XP in order for your computer to install... your device manager for audio card will still have the yellow (!) I've mentioned on my earlier post, until you find the right one which your computer will accept...

hm, that'll be hard. i've tried locating it. no luck =[
oh dang... that's a downer... I don't know what else to advise you... but I guess the last resort is to go to a service center and let the technicians do their magic, that is, if they have the installer specifically for your speaker device... or you could open your CPU and look for the model of your speaker device and look it up online. Most techie sites have a wide variety of downloadables for different techie gadgets and hardware...
