Song Seung Hun, an iconic representation of the Korean stars, recently expressed his thoughts on his upcoming drama "East of Eden".
Song Seung Hun who was filming at the time said with a little uneasiness, "Compared to the pressure of leading a mega production drama, I am more worried on the fans expectation of me. After lurking for such a long period of time, 5 years in fact, I'm afraid I can't perform better. However, due to the excellent script and filming atmosphere, this drama is definitely worth the anticipation."
In "East of Eden", Song Seung Hun will play as the character Lee Dong Chul, who witnessed his father's death when he was young and joined the triads ultimately in order to take revenge for his father.
In response to the character description, Song Seung Hun expressed, "Dong Chul experienced an ill-fated life in the process of taking revenge against the culprit Shin Tae Hwan (Jo Min Ki), but deep in his heart he is filled with love towards his family and loved ones. A self-restrained and manly character like Lee Dong Chul is the primary reason why I chose to act in this drama."
Song Seung Hun in order to portray his character has include intensive learning of foreign languages and card dealing skills.
"Although in the past I have seen the workings of blackjack and baccarat, but to familiarize myself with all the rules and regulations takes me a long time. Hence, a lot of time is spent on the pre-production," he said.
Lastly, Song Seung Hun asked everyone to give his new drama a little love.
"This drama is a lengthy 50 episodes, so I have to take it as running a marathon and control my pace well. "East of Eden" describes family love, brotherly love, conflict between two different families and has a well-written plot, hope it can gain the attention of everyone."
"East of Eden" will begin with a special episode on the 25th of August followed by 2 episodes on the 26th.
