Be honest and straightforward. It will be difficult, but it would be far better to end things sooner than to stay in a relationship that would never grow. You'll both continue to be unhappy and have a dishonest, unhealthy relationship.

I'd just straight out tell the person. I wouldn't want to continue with a relationship if I didn't like the person.

If I have fallen out of love with my significant other I would be honest. I would tell him that we have grown apart and it is better to be friends. Most of the time a friendship is hard to realize after love has changed, but one can only hope.

But yeah, staying in a relationship with a person you don't love is stupid. I wouldn't be straight forward, but tactical. Even if I don't love that person I wouldn't want to harm her.
