Relationship with Parents

RE: Relationship with Parents
My relationship with my parents is pretty rocky.
Sometimes, I think that we are so close and that I can tell them anything. Then. I'll speak my mind and I'll be yelled at so bad for being disrespectful or having "bad thoughts" or not being "smart" its not good.
Sometimes, I hate my parents. I do. Sometimes I hear the stuff that comes out of their mouth and ask myself how am i supposed to put up with the stuff that comes out of their mouth.
Other times I feel their love so much that I think that we've really bonded.

To be honest. I dont really know what kind ofrelationship me and my parents have. But I know that its not the best relationship.

RE: Relationship with Parents
Well, I'd say that my relationship with my parents is fine. I was born on an unusual chinese parents family where the strict parent is my mother. My dad is kinda softer, although when he gets upset it's best to get out of there Smile . Now that I'm older (21 years old) they're more relaxed with me. I talk about school with both of them, and something more with my dad, although there're some subjects that I'd rather avoid, like girlfriends.

It was really then when I could appreciate and cherish all my parents have done for me. Since then we talk every day and have a cordial relationship, but I don't bother to tell them any of my business.
i feel like that too! before i left 4 college, we would always eat out as a way for all of us to spend time together. but i would hate it because i would rather be with friends and it was embarrassing to me that i went everywhere with them like to the mall or something... i always hoped no one would see me... but now! those are the things i like to do with them! i guess when we grow older and see what we miss, we grow some maturity and miss some things. it's kinda like growing up from elementary school. When we were 10, all we wanted was to grow up. Now that we have, we kinda miss the easy days when all we had to do was have fun, have recess, wait for 6 hours in school before going home to play with the other kids or with the super nintendo!

RE: Relationship with Parents
i am a mum with 2 teenager. A boy and a girl. My son tends to tell me everything. What happen when he went out with his friends, what kind of party or where they meet a lot beautiful girls and so on. He is not a bad kid. i set a lot rules that are reasonable of course he mostly follow. For my daughter i have to ask then only she will tell. I said as long as you follow the rules i set then you can have a lot of freedom. I guess dinner is the best ime to have communication. I guess i am reasonably close to my kids. Can be better of course.

RE: Relationship with Parents
I joke a lot with my dad and sometimes, I say such things that make him jump and say that I'm out of control!
I realized that I used to spend most of my time with my mom. Every important thing I had to do, she would be here with me so I miss her a lot now that I'm far from the nest.
Still, I can't say we talk about everything because they are the overreacting type.

Life is too short to be pissed off all the time
