Dolls
Has anyone seen the movie "Dolls"?

it was made by Takeshi Kitano the same guy that made 'Tony Takinati'

if you haven't seen either, he makes really good sad love stories.

I thought the intro to Dolls was a little odd but I guess it's needed.

Synopsis:
The movie begins with a scene of Japanese theater, I'm not sure what it's called but it's the kind where there's peopel dressed all in black and the main person sustaining the dolls can be seen, and well it's one of those. It's a strange scene but the story of the theater tells of how their love is unavoidable but cannot be reached.

The next scene tells of a man who is getting married to his bosses daughter, his parents basically forced him to marry her. They even went to his current fiancee`s parents and begged them to let him marry the daughter of his boss. Well his current finacee, Sawako, tried to commit suicide, he is informed just before his wedding is about to commence. He also learns that she lost her mind and doesn't recognize anyone. He leaves his wedding and everything else behind, takes her from the hospital and leaves everything in his life to life one with her. "The Bound Beggars".
They are bound together by a thick red rope mainly because he tends to wander off when he's no looking and can get hurt.
The next story tells of an aging Yakuza Boss who long for his long lost love. She promises to wait for him every Saturday with a made Lunch.
The last Story is about a Pop Star who got into a car accident, the story is more about a fan of hers who is seemingly obsessed with her. He's kind of scary, but gentle in a way, this story isn't as interesting as the other two but it has it's moments.

I won't give away anymore than that, but These stories challenge to what extent a human being is able to love...I think that's something that can't be explained in words. I strongly recommend it
