International Celebrities Give Support To Typhoon Ondoy's Victims; Ways How To Donate
Filipino and non-Filipino celebrities all over the world has given their support and heartfelt concern to the victims of the Typhoon Ondoy (international code name Ketsana) which has devastated Metro Manila and neighboring provinces since Saturday, September 26, 2009.
Local celebrities are also helping out to raise funds for the typhoon victims. ABS-CBN's Sagip Kapamilya telethon on Sunday, which was participated by television and movie personalities like Kris Aquino, Piolo Pascual, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Jake Cuenca, Melissa Ricks, Pokwang, and many others, has raised more than 20 miliion pesos worth of in-kind donations and more than 26-million pesos worth of cash donations. Famous products like Bench, Penshoppe, San Miguel Corp., Coca Cola, Jollibee, McDonald's and many others have donated truckloads of their products to be donated to the devastated areas.
The ABS-CBN's Sagip Kapamilya telethon is still ongoing.
Here are possible ways for people all over the world to help in the typhoon relief effort: Warning: When giving donations, exert discretion because some individuals are giving bogus accounts and are taking advantage. Before donating, verify the accounts if they're the correct ones. Thank you.

I've added the list of possible ways to donate ellechar7, I'll be heading to the bank later to deposit. This small amount and this news are my small way to show support since I'm far away... oh! maybe me and my family will sort out some used clothing and stuff to give at the relief drop sites... This is really tragic!

I'm sure there'll still be relief drives by that time... up to now there are still areas unreachable by transportation and communications... not just in the rural areas but in the urban areas, as well. This is really tragic coz rich and poor are affected... and the way people extends their help is very heartwarming. There are relief drives everywhere, carpooling strangers, even making sandwiches for the people packing the relief goods! I just wish I can do something physical to help out...
Monster Radio is currently making updates on ways to help... you can listen to them online... or checkout this blog. It has a more detailed listing, I think.
I'll update the list on the news above for more info re: donations and whatnots later today

Good to hear about your safety Vieran... hope you're all okay too with the coming of Typhoon Pepeng. Hopefully it'll continue to weaken and divert away from the Philippine islands. We don't need another one after Typhoon Ondoy for sure! Heal Philippines!
