Cell phone questions!
Dont know if this is the appropriate thread to post questions like this but I was just wondering if anyone knew how to put up music into your ringtone on a cellphone w/o buying the song (since its hard to buy asian music for ringtone etc) Iv tried several different ways but none of them seem to work and iv seen people with ringtones that they have downloaded and uploaded but never asked since they were strangers so was wondering if anyone in this forum knew.

Thanks in advance!

RE: Cell phone questions!
i just downloaded one of those ringtone makers. i think i got it from download.com and i just send it to my fone via bluetooth (or sms like others do) or upload the ringtone (in mp3 form) to my cel using the program that the it comes with to add songs. is your phone capable of playing mp3's? if it is you could use the program it came with to put it in your phone. but you would still need to use a ringtone maker.

hope this helps! ^_^

RE: Cell phone questions!
First off, where did u buy ur phone? What company?
If you did buy it off a telephone service such as Telus or Virgin mobile or such, then your phone is "locked" to that company. That means, you can't put your own mp3's as ringtones. You would need to unlock your phone. I'm sure there is some place to do it in a mall if it's an Asian mall. Unlocking is also de-branding a phone which allows you to use mp3s as ringtones and applications you might have.

If you bought your phone from a store that isn't linked to any service, it's already un branded and ready to put mp3's.

Sorry if it sounds confusing.

RE: Cell phone questions!
Ah I was gonna say if your service provider was Verizon, I can help you with that! But if you're still looking for a place to do your ringtones without download a program, you can still try the site because it's not Verizon specific. But if you run into problems, I wouldn't know how to help.

And I just added a couple of ringtones this morning! It will only be free though if you have unlimited texting otherwise it'd be the price of a text.

RE: Cell phone questions!
Not too sure what the others are on about but generally speaking you can download a song from itunes and send from your comp via bluetooth or email it directly to your phone regardless wether or no its is locked to any network. Most phones manufactured within the past 2-3 years are mp3 enabled so really it should work on your phone regardless of the make and model.

RE: Cell phone questions!
Well I can send songs to my phone too using a micro SD card, but I can't turn them into ringtones. Well actually I found a new way that I haven't tried yet... Which is to convert the songs into .mid files and then save them as a sound and then resend it through text where I can save to ringtone!

Can't you just "copy" the song onto your phone??
