lol I never gave my girlfriends nicknames of that sort. (Baby, babe, etc)
It made me feel awkward later on. ._.
I did however, use nicknames for them, which was pretty much just
a shortened version of the actual name. o.o

Kimp, can you call him by his first name. I really don't see how that makes you guys more distant as a couple if anything it should bring you closer together.. I refer boyfriend as "my man" all the time to other "people" just to let them know that he is with me. However i feel really uncomfortable calling him hun and babe and whatever other lingo there is out there because he is a person not an object?
I hope I'm making sense and helping in some way. ^_^

I agree how can by calling him via a nickname put more distance between you two?Either way try calling him Baby like Ron said and see what happens
