Takeshi Kaneshiro was born on October 11, 1973, in Taiwan of Japanese and Taiwanese parents. This unique background led to Kaneshiro being fluent in several languages, namely Mandarin, Japanese, Cantonese, Taiwanese, and English. Kaneshiro spent his childhood in Taiwan.

This thread shuld actually be posted in the japanese section...but c, i didn't kno where 2 put him, he's half jap n taiwanese so he can't fit in the categories, any whoo if ur unsure hu he is, he's in house of flying daggers opposite Ziyi Zhang as 'Jin' and Zhang's character 'Mei' <---or sumthin...he looks wayyy diff in his earlier work eg Anna Magdelena <---the piano movie where he sports big glasses and longish hair LOL I love my Takeshi Kaneshiro!

he's awesome... chinese, cantonese, japanese movies, he fits into the roles like it's his real character... i like his acting in house of flying daggers best, though his latest movie red cliff was awesome too... and there i was rejoicing that i got a goodlooking actor like him to play zhu ge liang... kudos for him! i cant wait for the sequel to red cliff... XD
