Hello everyone of AmpedAsia,

I would like to announce that the AmpedAsia's Admin and Staffs are aware that Megaupload has been shut down by the FBI due to the SOPA and PIPA Act outbreak occurring in the United States.

If you're not familiar on what is the SOPA and PIPA Act, here's a breakdown courtesy of by Jared Newman, PCWorld.com.

"Media companies are always looking for new ways to fight piracy. They've tried suing individual users, getting Internet service providers to take action against subscribers, and working with the U.S. government to shut down domains based in the United States. But none of those actions can stop overseas websites such as The Pirate Bay and MegaUpload from infringing copyrights, or prevent Internet users from accessing those sites.

Enter SOPA, in the U.S. House of Representatives, and PIPA, in the U.S. Senate. Both bills are aimed at foreign websites that infringe copyrighted material. The bills are commonly associated with media piracy, but may also apply to counterfeit consumer goods and medication."

This is very saddening news as most of our video and music resources and contents are primarily uploaded onto Megaupload.

The AmpedAsia's Staffs are still discussing on the next best approach on this matter. Please kindly bear with us as we try to get this matter fixed the soonest time possible. Thank you and god bless.

Just read the news about Megaupload.... instead of working on issues such as how to make people's lives bette, they are taking the small things we still have...

To all:

I am deeply saddened by Megaupload being taken down. RIP MU! I know that most of our links are shared via MU and we, the AA admin and mods, are still in a wait-and-see mode. Megaupload is a big site and the smaller sites might be next in the shutdown and if we upload to those site, our efforts might be nil.

In my case, I might upload to Mediafire or 4shared especially for those series that ended this week. As for the rest, I can't commit to reuploading cuz as I've said, those sites might be next to be affected by the SOPA/PIPA Act!

We'll holler for any updates!

and 4jpz is correct! AA staff is pretty much waiting to see what will happen in the end of sopa....thus we are hesitating to reupload things......><.

i hope that we can find an alternative for this...we can probably ask help from the other members to suggest another sites similar to megaupload...because i can't think of any right now.

yes, if anyone has any suggestions, please let us know...we're open to any ideas atm..of course we are also doing some research as well..
