Synopsis Shinobi is set during the 1600s during the Japanese Warring States Era. Two ninja clans, the Iga and the Kouga, have been waging a war against each other for centuries. Kouga Gennosuke and Oboro, the most powerful members of the opposite clans, coincidentally met and fell in love. The Tokugawa Leyasu, the highest lord in Japan, then pits the two ninja clans in a battle to the death in an event to decide the next shogun. Gennosuke and Oboro must then decide whether their loyalties lie with each other or their clans.

I thought this movie was decent during the first 3/4, and then it kinda sucked at the end.

this looks like a really good movie, and it helps that the main actress looks really beautiful

I've seen the movie and the anime it was based off, and I consider the movie decent. There were some really great scenes and overall the movie was great looking, but I don't know, its like when you read a book and have all these high expectations for the movie, and it lets you down in various ways.

I liked this movie a lot. I probably watched it five times. Odagiri Joe is so attractive. The whole cast is very attractive and I like these kind of fantasy movies. If I read the manga I'd probably have a different opinion but since I didn't, I loved this movie.

I've seen this movie a couple of times and I enjoyed it everytime I watched it. It was a great movie considering that it was a low budget film. However I never knew there was an anime version of it. What's the name of the anime called?

Its called Basilisk. Pretty good anime, slightly gory, but not to a point where you can't watch it with younger kids around...

yeah anime was a bit better. the movie was cut short but overall pretty decent.
