So obviously we all know that everyone needs at least 15 posts to access our downloads section. And of course their are some people who join JUST so they can access the downloads section, and after they reach the fifteen, they leave, and theres very little we can do to convince them to stay..

But we also have a rule that states we don't get points unless our posts exceed 40 characters. I just read that recently, I guess I'm not too up to date, not that the points matter to me or anything.

Isn't there a way to make it so that posts over 40 characters count? So if someone replies with a post that says "I like it!" It won't count? But they have to elaborate. If you're going to post and then leave.. might as well make them a bit more meaningful? Just a thought.. because lately I've been seeing people who have 15 points but no amped points at all, which means every single one of their posts have been under 40 characters.

Just a suggestion. I just think we'd all like it a bit more to see meaningful replies, even if that means that people are just going to post and leave...

Posts with less than 40 characters is considered spam that's why those posts won't earn any ampedpoints... if such spams are done and usually made by a member consecutively just so s/he can reach the required 15 posts, that member should be reported to a mod or to Lance for banning... sadly though not all violators are banned and Lance is the only one who have the powers to ban...

I'm just suggesting that in order to be considered a post, the post should have 40 characters, which really isn't a lot.

Because people who come to Amped Asia just for the downloads can post 15 "That's cool!" in the general discussion section and they will be allowed into the downloads section.

Notifying a mod is of course the first thing that comes to mind, many of us have posted in the Count to a Million thread ^ - ^ regarding these. You mods do your gossiping there XD

But then it takes time to ban and such.

I thought this process could be made more efficient if only posts over 40 characters contributed to your post count

I understand now... hopefully Lance reads this thread (seeing that his online now) and recodes the programs so that not only ampedpoints be disabled for less than 40 characters but also for post counts...

Yeah thats a good idea. I will see if the forum supports that kind of thing because I definitely want to implement that.
