RE: Overused words in Asian languages

I guess in Tagalog, it would be "Eh" which is like a throat sound used to start a sentence and end it, too. Odd, but the first "Eh" in the sentence comes because the speaker is groping with what to say, and the last "Eh" is used to punctuate the line in a stronger way. From groping to stronger, yup!

I have to say for Cantonese, it's "la". And the constant "lo por & lo gong". (wife & husband)
And for Japanese, "Neeeee"

RE: Overused words in Asian languages

Well, I'm new here(obviously), and I really have a question related to the subject. I here "onni" and "oppa" (Korean) used quite often, but I am really not sure what they mean. I believe the first is for someone younger than yourself, and the other for an older person. I just don't want to make a mistake when using the words.

RE: Overused words in Asian languages

Mandarin - 'la' cause it's used for short sentences like if they only want to say yes they'd say 'xing la'

Something like that? Or dui ya

Mandarin for strange - shi gui? or dui bu qi la (I'm sorry) or jia you! (yu) ? (You can do it, fighting! Go for it)

Korean for me is ppabo (fool) (sp?) and fighting! which is spelt different I believe.

RE: Overused words in Asian languages

there are some overly used additives to the end of sentences..la..wor..na..or using ah in front..using it is okay but overusing it really annoys me
