Hello There, Guest! (Login — Register)
Synopsis Trying to maintain a balance as a college student and great member of society, Kai is willing to take whatever job there is to be offered. However, after several interviews that end in failure, Kai isn't in a very good mood. What is this poor little social welfare psychology major to do? Well, like any other college student, he's going to do his best. One day after returning from an interview, he notices a beautiful girl playing the violin in the middle of the campus, so he stops to listen. When the song is finished, he applauds the girl and gives her an orange he received from a friend, but in return, he doesn't get much appreciation from his generosity. A few days later, a friend of Kai's asks him to be his replacement for a blind date and what do you know, it's the violin girl who's there to meet him. But wait! She can't hear?! No problem. It seems Kai knows a bit of sign language to communicate with this lovely-on-the-outside, bad-attitude-on-the-inside beauty, Sae. With a little warming up, the two are on good terms and share interesting stories however, at the end of their "date," things happen that cause them to be separated in the amusement park. What happens next is a shocker you'll just have to find out as new friendships and romances are established in these "bittersweet days of youth" or much better, Orange Days.
This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time.
~Fight Club
Kai Yuuki (Satoshi Tsumabuki) is in his senior year at university studying social welfare psychology. At present, he is in the middle of job-hunting season. He is finding it difficult with no job offers so far.
One day, he meets a girl who is playing violin in the campus. She is Sae Hagio (Kou Shibasaki). In marked contrast to her beautiful tone and attractive looks, her personality is somewhat impertinent. And to top it off, she communicates through very vulgar sign language.
Four years ago, she lost the most important thing for a violinist - her hearing. As a result Sae closed off her inner self from the outside world.
Kai finds himself on a date with Sae, in place of his best friend. Unexpectedly, he comes into contact with Sae's private side.
Love, job-hunting, friendship... Setting a campus in spring as a dorama`s backdrop, it's the start of a glittering youth drama.
This drama really got me thinking about my own college life and how much we need to cherish those moments that we take for granted. Everybody go watch it!
AHHH!! Orange Days is a must! Lol. My mother was always into Korean dramas, when I made her watch 1LOT she liked it but said it was too sad and went back to her K-dramas. Then I made her watch Orange Days. After 3rd ep, she goes up to me and says 'It's so amazing'. Now she's asking for more.. lol. It's beautiful, amazing, inspiring... the dialogue is WONDERFUL and Kou Shibasaki is so convincing in her role even though she doesn't speak at all. The lead characters had the best chemistry, and not to mention the OST is the best dorama OST I've heard so far.. I loved Orange Days to pieces. Just read all the awesome comments/ratings it received: http://jdorama.com/drama.818.htm
