Same here I try my best never to lie since again everything you attempt to hide will eventually come out sooner or later. That statement does not just apply to parents but life in general

Well...I get along very well with my mom...She's like my best friend. xD I think we got close because I'm the type of girl that doesn't like to go out and "party" or anything like that (weird?). So I mostly ended up chatting with her about some things...
But with my father I don't get along very well...at all. Most of the time we end up fighting because I can tell when he's lying (which is most of the time). No matter what he's always making excuses and he always makes promises he can't keep (mostly to my younger siblings).
So yeah...I get along better with my mom
Of course I "love" both of my parents it's just that most of the time my dad can be very irritating

Let's see my dad was a deadbeat(even though I'am permantly staying single that's something I'll never be) and mom has always been there since their also known as "angels in training"

i dun tell my mom everythg abt my daily endeavors either...maybe thats why its hard for me to communicate openly with her on more intricate issues (which is not very convinient in many ways) Maybe smtimes we should open up more to our parent, they do have a right to know abt what's happening in their kids' lives. Smhow though, i still keep to myself and keep on assuming that "things that they duno won't hurt them"....im afraid i might land in a mess if i keep up this attitude.. So, my answer is...yes..we should tell our parent even the most trivial thgs. (try to!!) >_<""

I am pretty close with my parents but like most people here I don't tell them a lot of stuff.

I joke a lot with my dad and sometimes, I say such things that make him jump and say that I'm out of control!
I realized that I used to spend most of my time with my mom. Every important thing I had to do, she would be here with me so I miss her a lot now that I'm far from the nest.
Still, I can't say we talk about everything because they are the overreacting type.

i am a mum with 2 teenager. A boy and a girl. My son tends to tell me everything. What happen when he went out with his friends, what kind of party or where they meet a lot beautiful girls and so on. He is not a bad kid. i set a lot rules that are reasonable of course he mostly follow. For my daughter i have to ask then only she will tell. I said as long as you follow the rules i set then you can have a lot of freedom. I guess dinner is the best ime to have communication. I guess i am reasonably close to my kids. Can be better of course.
