I am very serious when I say the months in 日本語 (Japanese) are a simple as counting.

All you do is add 月 (gatsu) and there you have it!

一月
Ichigatsu
January

二月
Nigatsu
February

三月
Sangatsu
March

四月
Shigatsu
April

五月
Gogatsu
May

六月
Rokugatsu
June

七月
Nanagatsu
July

八月
Hachigatsu
August

九月
Kugatsu
September

十月
Juugatsu
October

十一月
Juuichigatsu
November

十二月
Juunigatsu
December

Simple, no? So if you know how to count to 12, you know all of your months!

often, there are more than one way to read one kanji.
thus shigatsu could also be yonn gatsu.
I've red somewhere that Japanese people don't like to say shi for four, because shi is also (死:death).
