How We Determine Who Gets Banned

FAQ

Note: Questions are posted in BOLD as Answers are posted in italics.

Q. Why do we have a ban list?
A. The purpose of a ban list is for us moderators to keep track on whom member's has violated AmpedAsia's forum rules.

Q. When will the ban list come to affect?
A. As of today, the ban list is now in affect. Moderators will be even more strict on the forum rules. So please for your sake and ours, oblige by the forum rules.

Q. What is the warning level and how will the moderators determine who will be in the ban list?
A. With the new add-on features to better catch the violators, you will notice the "Warning Level: XX%" (just below your Amped Points). The warning level is the administrator's gauge on the Who's Who on the Ban List. If your posts or threads did not conform to the AmpedAsia Forum Rules, then the moderators will give you a warning. As your warning level rises, your chances to be banned will also rise. Please read the Forum Rules to be guided.

Q. How will the ban list work?
To better understand how the system works, us moderators will be conducting warning percentage infractions when a member of AmpedAsia violates one or more of the forum rules.

We will first give you a warning for the first infraction by a raise of your warning percentage and a PM from any moderator that catches you. The PM will include an explanation on what you've done wrong and encourage you to read the Forum Rules/FAQ. This will determine that we've warn you before and hopefully prove to us that you've read the forum rules. If the violation continues to progress, your warning percentage will increase, in meaning, you are bound to get banned from AmpedAsia for good.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not take this lightly as we can keep track on all of your infractions, threads, and posts you make.

Q. How should I redeem myself from being added to the ban list?

Our suggestions:
  • Carefully read the forum rules and oblige by it for any further consequences.
  • Check your PM messages more frequently seeing this is the only way we can communicate with you through AmpedAsia. Unless, you can provide us an alternative way to contact you i.e. your email address.
  • Check the "Member Ban List" often to see if your name have been added to the list or not.
  • If you believe one of the moderators has made false accusation of your wrong doing,
please submit your sentiment here. We will further investigate your case in a timely manner.

Thank you for your understanding and being a loyal member to AmpedAsia!

RE: Members Ban List
fake_innocent report:

atsigrace has PM me back saying the double posting she did in the "Count to a Million" thread was accidental, due to Rondillo posting at the same time and forgot to change it afterward. She received the warning from me and responded back by apologizing that she'll be more careful next time. To show that she got the gratitude to apologize and has received/read my PM, I'll remove her off the list.

Nona has again made a strike by double posting with a post of "thank sooo much"
Here's her post: Click here!

dfiz made a violation on double posting.
Here's his/her post: Click here!

leelovelee has been making thread of her own, along with her threads, her post contain messages that are double posted.
List of threads: 1 and 2

johan made a violation on double posting.
Here's his/her post: Click Here!

For some reason, this member posts' seem so relevant to every post he/she makes. It seems this person is doing it on purpose to hurriedly get that 15 posts to get access to the download section. Can these messages be considered repeated spamming?
Here's his/her post: Click here!

synk has made a violation on double posting.
Here's his/her post: 1 2 3 (look at post #43 and #46 on post #2)

Post #2: I've noticed that his/her post are asking the same question when a member already clarified/explained what does Ampedpoints mean. They even quoted Lance's response. Surely, he/she is doing it on purpose or plainly didn't bother reading it.

4jpz reports:

leelovelee has been spamming the forums with numerous threads which are similar in content all located under the "Download Tips and FAQ" section. Here are his/her posts: http://www.ampedasia.com/forums/search.p...7687c53caf

Added on edit:
After giving a PM, leelovelee is not heeding my advice. I even gave another advice on one of her threads! Because of that, I gave her a negative reputation and she's strike 2 all under 30 minutes!!!

RE: Members Ban List
flybier is another user leeching off of the intro thread with mainly hello's and hi's.. I've given her 2 warnings already and no response to either..

This is why I STILL suggest the intro thread have post count disabled.. This is a constant problem. Users leech off of the intro section welcoming members who have been active for almost a month. And it’s not like they give them a warm welcome.. The messages are usually “Hi welcome” or “Hi I’m new to” which can be considered spam..

RE: Members Ban List
This thread, as pointed to me by Krazoom, is not working!!! We can only report violators and stops there. Lance isn't here all the time so even if a member reached 3 strikes in one or two or three days, or in just a couple of hours, it doesn't make a difference because the banning will take effect when Lance logs on here. And even if he's online, I don't think he sees the major problems we are experiencing. The violators who reached the Strike 3 status can now access the d/l section, so our efforts to moderate the forums are flushed down the drain.

Moderating these forums is a tough job, it takes a lot of time! More than the required 3-4 hours a week! Added to that is that not all moderators are actively moderating or even just actively logging on!!! Sooner or later the active moderators will be zapped off all energies and just stop moderating or be inactive like the others! I've seen moderators old and new, come and go, and I do believe the active moderators are heading that path, too!

Anyways, I've added wehans who has created threads for every each query s/he wanted to ask, and s/he made it all under the "User Review" section. I've merged all wehans' threads since they have one common denominator. Here are the said threads: http://www.ampedasia.com/forums/search.p...e50b3bb25d

Added on edit:
An update... Lance has banned all reported violators except for dfiz as of Dec 17, 2007. I've already updated the main post.

Added on edit: (18 Dec 07)
Donaldcj1 has been added on the main post because he has been double posting in one thread... all 15 posts! Here are his posts: http://www.ampedasia.com/forums/search.p...4b43daedb9

RE: Members Ban List
zzshounenzz's post were all pretty much the same.. "That's cool" even in a thread which was supposed to be a dramatic she/he said "that's cool", as if being terrorized is actually cool.. This is considered spam.
