Main Cast for Chinese Hana Yori Dango Revealed

There will be a Chinese version for the famous manga Hana Yori Dango and the main cast was revealed as early as February 2009. The main cast are Zheng Shuan as Chu Yuxun (Makino Tsukushi/San Cai/Geum Jan Di), Yu Haoming as Duan Mulei (Domyoji Tsukasa/Dao Ming Si/Goo Jun Pyu), Zhang Han as Yun Hai (Rui Hanazawa/Hua Ze Lei/Joo Ji Hoo), Zhu Zixiao as Ximen Ruiqian (Sojirou Nishikado/Xi Men/So Yi Joong), and Wei Chen as Ye Shuo (Akira Mimasaka/Mei Zu/Sung Woo Bin).

Amongst the main cast, only Yu Haoming and Wei Chen are popular in China as they are pop singers. The rest of the main cast are relatively newcomers.

With the hype and popularity Boys Before Flowers, the Korean version, is currently experiencing, it is no surprise that netizens are talking about the Chinese version even if it'll not be aired until September. Netizens are making comparisons in terms of the appearance of the main characters' fashion specifically their uniforms, and yes, their looks.

Already the storyline is reported to be different. Due to the presence of violence in Meteor Garden, the Taiwanese version, China has banned the drama from airing in the country, thus, the Chinese version will lean towards an inspirational plot rather than the romantic idol drama format. But reports also said that the Chinese version is more like the Meteor Garden because it'll be set up during the college years rather than in high school which is the set up for the Japanese version.

The Chinese version will be called Meteor Shower, and is the 4th version of Hana Yori Dango. Another version is in the offing to be released in the Philippines.

Oh god loool, more versions of HYD... After I watched the Japanese version, I couldn't be bothered with watching the Taiwanese/Korean version X_X I kinda got bored coz I already knew the storyline zz
But the Taiwanese was just boring... now theres gonna be a Chinese version.. I might watch it, if it manages to capture interest in the first episode haha X_X although I don't know anyone in the Chinese version either XD

OH GOOD GOLLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a Chinese version of BOF now!!!! HOLY MOLEY!!!!!!! lol. but eh not too surprised. cause i knew there would probably be more versions of BOF LOL. o man >.< haha. But wow no way really!!! china actually banned Meteor garden cause of it's violence???? o man that's intense lol. and uh interesting that it will be more of inspirational??? lol

But hmmmm the guy as tsukasa kinda looks too nice to be tsukasa lol. i wonder if his hair will be curled for the serie? lol. XD

but hmmm i don't know alot about Chinese stars. so this cast of BOF is all new to me....

but i guess i'll be waiting to see this lol. i really don't get tired of watching the many version of BOFs lol >.<

I'm not familiar with Chinese celebs, too, except the most popular ones and I guess the Chinese version pulls true with the HYD trend in casting newcomers as F4 and Makino... I bet their popularity will skyrocket as soon as this is aired!

And I kinda wonder too on how they can pull off a storyline for HYD that is not a romantic idol drama. It's a big diversion from the original... and yep Krazoom, where are the curls, eh? lol... I mean, these are promo pics already and some reports said that they have started or will start filming soon, so where are the curls and the meanie look?

hmmm, they seem like they're going to go for a different approach on this. like what everyone else is thinking, where is the curly hair? they're suppose to be in college, they look younger than the cast of BBF right now. lol! anyways, good luck to them!

honestly i dont have the hots for the chinese version of hyd lol. but i'll definitely enjoy watching it! the main girl seems to be pretty cute =] nothing beats like a lee min ho, matsumoto jun, and jerry yan haha
