Longest Total Solar Eclipse in the 21st Century Experienced Across Asia

Asians from India to China, including the surrounding Asian countries have experienced the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century today (July 22) shortly before 6:30 am India time (0100 GMT).

The eclipse, which lasted up to a maximum of 6 minutes and 39 seconds over the Pacific Ocean, according to NASA, was visible along a roughly 250 km-wide (155 miles) path.

With cloudy skies in various Asian cities and even a rainy weather to some, viewers didn't experience the full effect of the total solar eclipse, but to those who are blessed with clear skies, they made the most out of the experience. Visitors and foreigners enjoyed the experience with the locals, as well.

Asians are relatively superstitious though, so, the eclipse is seen with mix blessings, either with auspicious outcomes in some Asian cultures or with bad omen to others.

I didn't get to see it too and I was outdoors with all the sunshine the whole morning good thing I got to experience a total solar eclipse a few years back... thanks for the photo links Joanna

amazing and it will be a good experience. i seen on the news some people travelled to specific places to view it, i.e. taking a plane. they must be rich. lol.
