Hello There, Guest! (Login — Register)
Sometimes I see these new members making threads excessively. It wastes space and we don't need 5 topics in a row (excluding downloads and good reviews) The 15 post rule in order to get into the downloads is linked with this since I saw a member have 15 threads just to get in to downloads.....So what I suggest is to make a limit on how much threads a member can make per day. I say around a limit of 3-5 threads will be ok.
RE: A limit on how much threads you can make per day
That sounds like a good idea. I noticed on the HK Series Forum, there are 15 threads just taken off wikipedia that someone made just to get to the download section.
RE: A limit on how much threads you can make per day
That's a good suggestion. Some of the new threads are mirrors of existing threads, and these newbies aren't checking the existing threads for existing topics to avoid similarities. Maybe aside from the posted thread limit per day, a sunction will be given to the members who are posting threads with similar concepts to existing ones.
I don't know how to moderate such threads, maybe Lance should put a thread listing all existing threads for that section/forum and that members will be warned to read the list first before posting new threads, just like the ones done under the downloading section wherein drama lists are enumerated with their respective thread links written beside the titles. Violaters will be given corresponding penalties, or something like that. What do you think, people?
RE: A limit on how much threads you can make per day
Oh yeah, that's a good idea Edison.
It's been a pain for us to have to keep deleting the threads and warning those newbs about searching the forum before creating a new thread. Much like 4jpz had stated, I think Lance or we, should have sticky/important thread/post that lists all the rules in the forum and it should be placed in all the sections on the forum. I've seen it done in other forums before and it has done a good job at keeping similar threads down. The only problem I see with that is that some people just don't read, and I really don't know why they're here.
RE: A limit on how much threads you can make per day
The problem with that is it has to be updated alot so alot of time will have to be put into it. It sounds like a good idea, their should also be penalties and such as well.

Yeah, we will have to invest a lot of time in doin' so, but you know, we don't get called Moderators for nothing. But I'm pretty sure that if we get the basics down, there won't have to be much updatin'. And I agree, penalties should be included---definately.
RE: A limit on how much threads you can make per day
I agree with a lot of the suggestions with this thread right now. The important sticky notice on all the sub forums should be good as it can teach new members the rules. It won't matter of it has to be updated. Everyone on the staff can contribute so less work!
