Leila Tong Ling (Traditional Chinese: 唐寧Wink (born December 5, 1981), born Pauline Kong (Traditional Chinese: 江麗娜Wink, is an actress in Hong Kong. Her birth name is used in her works during her childhood and adolescence.

She is not under the management of TVB (non-contracted) but continues acting in numerous TVB series since her childhood, such as Twin of Brothers, the first major TVB production starring newcomers. The sequel Life Made Simple was released two years later, with the original cast and a few new actors. At the end of its run Life broke TVB's rating record for a TVB series, with highest single night rating of 43 points, and became the third best rated TVB series in 2005.

RE: Leila Tong [HK]
Her role in Life Made Simple kills me! I"m watching it now, and her backstabbing ways makes me want to scream. I remember watching her when I was really young as the daugher of Adam Cheng, what great memory I have!!

Leila Tong & Sammul Chan to Film "The Last Princess"

Leila Tong Ning and Sammul Chan Kin Fung will be appearing in mainland production, "The Last Princess."
Other cast members include Tsui Kwai Ying, Christie Chung Lai Tai, Xiao Qiang, Hsuan Hing, etc. Filming will start on January 15th.

It has been confirmed that Leila will play the role of Lee Hoi Sum. This role was highly sought after by other actresses.

Although Leila had not taken part in China productions in the past, she was selected for this role due to her acting skills and her market value in Hong Kong. At the same time, "The Last Princess" will also allow Leila to further penetrate the mainland market.

Leila's character, Lee Hoi Sum, is a challenging role unlike others in her past acting resume. The plot is complex and has many twists. Disguised as a man, Leila's character is employed at a brothel. Later she becomes the court eunuch's wife and also turns out to be a government official's daughter.

However, due to marrying the wrong man, Leila's character obtains a divorce. Returning to the brothel, she becomes the capital's most popular courtesan.

Leila Tong Tackles Difficult Role
translated by dee-lush

Leila Tong has been working on a mainland television drama ‘最後格格’. This series can be said to be the most challenging for Leila as her character must be portrayed from 16 years old to 30 years old. The occupation of her character is certainly tricky, Leila will first play a waitress and then will be forced to marry a court eunuch (太監Wink. Due to such changes in status, Leila will have many ‘looks’ in this series, including a female pretending to be a male (while she is a waiter), a virtuous young woman, a married woman, a horse rider and a bride. But out of all images, Leila likes the waiter look the best. She commented, “This look makes me remember the time I had to imitate a young Leslie Cheung, it was very funny. (Isn’t hurtful when have to bind you chest?) Yes, but thankfully I’m not busty.

Leila’s costumes in the series have all been made by hand in Beijing.

------

The actors and actresses of the stage production, The Storm Killer, attended a press conference yesterday. In the production, Leila acts as Playboy's cover girl. Besides being very rude, she also has to wear very sexy clothing. "Never tried talking so many cuss words in front of so many people, it's actually very weird. The clothing are also so sexy, the cast always have to be careful around me so nothing goes wrong when acting."

When asked about if "The Family Link" is a copy from a foreign series, Leila disagrees. She thinks that having reactions and discussions about it is what makes a series good. Also, when asked whether she hope that "The Family Link" will pass "Heart of Greed" in ratings, Leila says that she's so busy she doesn't even have time to watch the series.
