Lee Jun-ki’s New Movie to Open in Korea, Japan
March 5, 2007

The opening date of the joint Korean-Japanese movie “Virgin Snow” starring Korean actor Lee Jun-ki and Japanese actress Aoi Miyazaki and directed by Han Sang-hee has been announced recently.

The movie, whose completion is slated for late March and which is entitled “First Love” in Japanese, will open across Japan in May during the “gold week,” with the premiere scheduled to take place at the Garden Cinema in Tokyo. Movies that open during the gold week -- the longest holiday season of the year in Japan -- compete fiercely. The production firm of “Virgin Snow” chose this period for the opening because it is more than confident in its success.

“Virgin Snow” is a story about a high school student named Min (played by Lee), who goes to Japan to study and falls in love with a young girl named Naname (played by Miyazaki), whose melancholic personality captivates his heart.

Miyazaki drew the spotlight for her role in the NHK TV drama “Synesthesia” and has emerged as a top star for her role in the movie “Nana.” Her role in “Virgin Snow” has already drawn significant attention from the Japanese media as she plays opposite Lee, whose status has rapidly elevated from a promising newcomer who debuted in the movie “King and the Clown” to a rising actor.

Meanwhile, Lee will hold his first meeting with his Japanese fans on March 10 in Osaka. The next day he will talk about his acting career during a talk show that will be recorded at the Swiss Hotel in Osaka. Both the meeting and the talk show, in which Lee will show off his charm as an actor and good dancer, are expected to boost his popularity as a top hallyu star. Moreover, “Virgin Snow,” which opens concurrently in Korea and Japan in May, will also solidify Lee’s status in Japan.

I quite don't understand feminine taste. I thougt feminine taste meaned looking like a girl but looking at pics of 10 big actors of feminine taste, except Lee Joon Ki (as beautiful as ever), I don't feel the others are girly at all. Actually, they look tough.

I watch the Virgin Snow trailer. I can't wait to see it. About the Magnificent Holiday, I want to watch it so much but at my place all were sold out. I wonder why there isn't that movie in Ampedasia.

At first, I really like My Girl since it's funny. However, I feel really disappointed as Lee Joon Ki ended up alone. He did many things and still couldn't get the love. It's unrealistic. Is there any girl who won't love the guy that loves her so much and he was so handsome and rich too?

I never watched that movie again. I couldn't stand seeing him crying. It's so heartbroken. Sounds silly! Hahaha

Gillian Chung to Star Alongside Lee Jun Ki in New Movie?

Gillian Chung, wearing purple sporting clothes, was yesterday promoting Adidas’ autumn-summer collection at APM. The actress-singer, who was a hurdler in her high school days, demonstrated her abilities live at the event. Being made the image girl for the brand in mainland, Gillian expressed her delight of being the first Hong Kong female artist to be endorsed by the sporting giant.

During a radio interview, Mani Fok earlier revealed her plans to shoot a movie with Lee Jun Ki as the male lead and that Gillian could be the leading actress, depending on her performance. Newspaper report in HK about JunKi's signing ceremony, Joey Yung was there too to lend support.

Sina reported that after the ceremony, he joined the welcoming party in a pub. It was throw by the company and attending the party was Jacky Chan, boss EEG boss, Fan Bing Bing, Gillian Chung (Twins), Yumiko & Tze Ting Ting (Nicholas Tse's sister). Party ends about 2a.m. and JK puts on a dark shade when he left the pub in the boss rolls royce.
