Ganguro
The basic look consists of bleached hair, a deep tan, both black and white eyeliners, false eyelashes, platform shoes (usually sandals or boots), and brightly-colored outfits. Also typical of the "Ganguro Gal" look are cell phones covered with purikura stickers, tie-dyed sarongs, mini-skirts, hibiscus flower hairpins, and lots of bracelets, rings and necklaces.

Extreme trend followers further bleach their hair to a platinum blond shade, get even deeper tans, wear white lipstick, multicolored pastel eyeshadows and tiny metallic or glittery adhesives around the bottom rim of the eye sockets (See Yamanba). Popular Ganguro magazines include Egg, Popteen, and Ego System.

Here is an example of a hot ganguro girl, however she is much less extreme than some of them, and I think if the girl is less extreme then she is hot, if there's too much makeup it becomes a little nasty.

that girl looks just like the typical Japanese girl I think except a bit more tan. I don't see any problem with her look at all, in fact she's pretty cute.

Yeah it looks cute but then if they're too tan then it looks nastly. Have you ever seen some japanese girls with heavy makeup and have white blotches over their tan faces? Looks like clowns and whoever told them they look attractive....is beyond me.

Lol now that I look at it more, it looks like she's a doll. Not even a real person. You might know what I'm talking about those japanese girls with big eyes in every picture looking like a plastic doll. So scary sometimes.

looks pretty to me. I like her skin, it looks very glowing.

Personally I think this style has its merits. It looks a bit western, but I think the style can work for some Asian girls.

the picture isn't really ganguro, she just has a tan and bleached hair. Ganguro is quite a bit more extreme. I guess you could say she is a bit ganguro though.

Ganguro is pretty much out of style nowadays. It went out of style back in the early 2000s, but there are still some left.

Hm...I've always hated that look 'cause I think sooo fake and plastic.

It reminds me of the white girls in America who tan themselves; they just look orange and scary. I suppose I don't mind the hair being that color though, but that orange tan is just euuugh---gotta go. To top it off, they just haaad to wear bright make up, as if my eyes weren't bleeding enough.

gotta agree that the pic of the ganguro girl is less extreme then the ones I've seen but I thought the style was cute cept when they do actually look like clowns..I liked the look when I saw the girls in tokyo drift like that but more extreme then that looks weird
