RE: How to play subtitles
Lance Wrote:This tutorial only applies to softsubs, meaning the subtitles are external from the actual movie file. Hardubs refers to subtitles that are added into the movie file.

Keep the .srt or .sub and .idx file together in the same folder as your avi file (make sure they are named the same - ie: movie.avi and movie.srt).

To display the subtitles download Directvobsub and install, it will automatically load the srt file into you player when you view your movie file.

Download DirectVOBsub here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DirectVobSub.htm

An alternate way to view subtitles is to use a program that has subtitle support, such as BSPlayer, VLC (VideoLan), and Radlight.

BsPlayer - http://www.bsplayer.org
VLC - http://videolan.org/
Radlight - http://www.radlight.net/

Out of the above three, I reccomend VLC.

ASF files
In some cases, you need to convert ASF files to avi before you can view subtitles.

Use the program below to convert ASF files to AVI
http://www.boilsoft.com/asfconverter/

Sometimes you can just view the subtitles by loading it up with VLC player.

thanks! very much, this is very informative!!!

bru_roann Wrote:hey! thanks,,now i know how to add subs..but is it possible to save the video with the added subs?? coz i wanna put it on my ipod..

if your vids are hardsubbed then you just have to convert it for ipod usage, but I don't think softsubbed vids will work for ipod. Better look for hardsubbed ones... Smile

is it possible to add a subtitile file like .srt for a video that the .srt file has been deleted accidentally?

anton Wrote:is there a way when you get the subtitles to burn it to a cd or dvd after with the subs? i just downloaded a moment to remember with no subtitles and no download link for the subtitles either, if anyone has them let me know!

ahhh, its called hardsub... theres a program how to hardsub the subtitle and the movie into one.. try to use google search engine... Big Grin

what do you mean by hardsub...is it the video that the subtitle are included in one file?
are all the movies or sereis here in korean or japanese audio? are there english version for that?

That question makes no sense and please refrain from double posting.

RE: How to play subtitles
i never knew subtitles exist in rar form... are you suppose to unzip it.

i think gom player is good at playing subs...as long as the subs are in the same folder as the video, and with the same name, gom player detects it immediately, at least for me.
